PROLOGUE
"Why the hell would you do that?! You could have gotten yourself killed when you followed me" I shouted at him angrily making me clench my fists and look at him dead in the eye.
"And if I did not follow you preziosa? I could not let you die out there when you do not even know if they have your family" His eyes started to turn pure black making me take a step or two forward so I am now just an inch away from him. I needed to tilt my head upward so I can look at him in the eye.
"Look what do I even need to tell you to just leave me alone and do what I need to do? You don't need to keep on coming for me and saving me like I need saving. If you're just worried about the welfare of my dear sister then you're wrong. She does not care for me. Okay?"
He started to laugh as he turned his back on me and started to pace around the underground bunker. He looked at me in the eye for a few seconds. At first I thought I saw something flash in his eyes of love then he said "I do not care about your sister preziosa"
"Then why? Why would you follow me all the way here" I whispered. My own voice even seamed like a stranger to me now.
"You don't get do you? Why do you think I would follow you all the way here when I can be on the battlefield and fight with my people? Why do you think I tried to forbid you to come here? Why do you think when you were about to die.. " His voice started to crack so he stopped on what he was saying. He gulped before continuing"...to die that I started to panic and when the witches and doctors said you can no longer be revived if the last operation did not work. Why do you think I did not give up on a way to revive you? Why do think I always made sure you were at home in the palace and you were always happy"
I closed my eyes as their is only one explanation on why he would do all of those things to me. Opening in my eyes I looked at his eyes and they were back to his usual emerald green eyes.
"You can not possibly... I mean... You're in love with my step sister.. Their is no way you would feel something like that for me"
"And what if I do have those feelings for you il mio amore?"
"I am afraid that I may not be able to repay your feelings for me Prince Fabian"
I am about turn my back on him when he started to say something "You know from the very start I actually hated you because I thought you were just close to Zafron and Haera so you can get access to our riches. But then I learned you were not really like that. I started to see you and the more I see a part of you the more I want to know you. You know? I will not really deny that you Azeyla Valeria stole my heart without me even noticing it"
Standing still, I did not dare to move even a muscle as I did not know on how to reply to Prince Fabians' confession.
"Prince Fabian..." I just said his name as he took a couple of steps toward me. Once he is in front of me he wrapped his left hand around my waist and pulled me closer to him while he placed his other hand on my cheek and carressed it. We looked at each other's eyes for a moment.
"I do not need your response right now preziosa. I'll wait for you even if it is a lifetime" he leaned forward and kissed me lightly on the lips.
A thousand years ago, during the dark ages, the creatures of the night revealed themselves to the world. In order to maintain peace with everyone. An agreement has been made, more of like forced agreement, that the creatures of the night would rule.
Rules were established and we must abide by them. Breaking the rules results to severe punishments like whipping and such. Aristocrats were formed, the ones who rules the creatures of the night were the royals pure blood of the vampires, while for the humans the ones who are wealthy fought until death to claim a title of Lord and Lady. The ones who become Lord and Lady were deeply respected by the people.

These are the rules implemented to those who are at the bottom of the pyramid.
1. Only speak when you are requested to speak.
2. Never disobey.
3. Always follow their requests,orders, rules, and guidelines set by them.
4. Always be respectful.
5. If and only if you are an ordinary human with no title at all. You must not look at them in the eye.
6. Never escape.
