Chapter one
I wake up to the sound of my door closing, as I go to sit up a large hand wraps around my mouth muffleing the scream that escapes my mouth. Another man grabs me by my legs, I start to kick and land a solid kick into his gut causing him to loosen his grip. And I immediately bite the other guys hand, as he moves his hand I am able to yell for help before something hard hits me in the back of the head causing my vision to go black.
Im beginning to wake up when I hear muffled voices I try to open my eyes but I have no control over my body so I just lay there listening. "She can't stay here this is the second time something like this has happened, we can't just sit here and wait for her to get taken or worse killed!"
"Dont you think I know that it terrifies me that this happened, let's talk to King Duncan maybe she can stay in French court for the time being Until then were doubling her guards and she is not to leave the castle."
"Mom" I try to say but my throat is raspy she walkes over to my dresser and grabs a glass of water and hands it to me before sitting on the edge of thecourt
"Sweetheart your going to go a stay with King Duncan in the French court until we can figure out a way to keep you safe. This will also give you a chance to meet Sebastian before the wedding when your twenty one"
"Okay dad but can I visit for my birthday please I will be sixteen in a month" I pleeded giving him puppy dog eyes, I knew he couldn't tell me no I was his little girl. "Of course you can, but you leave tomorrow I will have your maids pack everything you will need. I'm so sorry we failed to protect you, please forgive me" my father said with a single tear falling and landing on my shoulder
"Dad I don't blame you, you there was no way you could have known I love you so much" I said trying to hold back the tears that threatened to fall, with one last hug they left leaving me alone with my thoughts. As I lay on my bed I wondered what Sebastian looked like, would he like me, would he try to change who I am Turing me into a submissive wife. Before long the darkness had consumed me once again and I slept dreamlessly.
I awoke to the morning light streaming through the window above the top of my bed, I quickly get out of bed and send servants to prepare a bath and bring me breakfast. Using the little amount of time I had before they returned I searched for a dress to wear for the journey. I decided on a sapphire blue dress that fell to my feet, it was tight at the waist and chest and would give me perfect elagent curves. I chose diamond and sapphire earrings and necklace to match.
As if on cue my maids returned with tray of food, as soon as I finished eating I got a bath and got dressed. After a long goodbye to my mother and father I stepped into the carrage that would take me away from everything I knew.
The journey would take two days, the first day I would travel in the carrage and the second day I would board one of King Duncan's ships. The first day went by uneventfully but as we arrived at the port my mind started working on overdrive causing me to stress and worry about meeting Sebastian for the first time.
When I awoke I smell of the ocean filled my nose, as a child I used to play at the beach for hours when my father found time to take me it was our way bonding. The smell used to put me at ease but now it caused me to panic because I knew I was hours away from meeting my future husband.
When I was born my father King James and King Duncan arranged our marriage as a form of peace treaty. I was never fond of the idea of marrying someone I possibly didnt love, but as future queen its my duty to do what's best for my people.
I heard one if the sailors say we were nearing the docks effectively snapping me out of my thoughts and sending a new wave of nervousness to flow through me. I stood and looked out the window and saw we were less than four hundred yards from the docks, but what cought my eye was the royal carrage that was stationed not far from where we would unboard.
We rapidly reached the docks and were secured I immediately unboarded and thanked the sailors. I took a deep breath and tried to calm my nerves as I turned and approached the royal carrage leaving my country and my family behind me.
