Part 1

I was in the forest of Camp Half-Blood with Percy. Our weapons were drawn and we were scanning the perimeter. Tonight’s game as capture the flag and Percy and I were on flag duty. I heard some shuffling next to me so I turned to see Will lunge. Percy stayed at his post but he looked over his shoulder worriedly.

“I got this.” I murmured to him. He nodded and returned his attention back to his job. Will tried to sweep me off my feet but I jumped and socked him in the gut. He stumbled back as I hit him with the hilt of my dagger and he crumpled to the ground.

I turned around and guarded the flag while I saw Mary approach Percy with her sword drawn.

“I hope you like losing.” She teased. Percy shook his head.

“I don’t think so Mary.” He responded slyly. It was obvious Mary felt awkward holding her sword because she usually used lightning bolts for her weapon but she tried to show no sign of it. She swiped it at Percy but he jumped to one side. Percy circled his sword around hers and hit the hilt, disarming her easily. Before she could use lightning he kicked her back and swept under her feet causing her to fall down. She hit the ground with a large thud and I knew she was unconscious. Percy never lowered his sword. A few strands of his short, swept to the side hair fell into his face which I thought was cute. We circled our flag making sure no one was near. I whistled to Percy which was our signal that I was going to use my cap. (The cap I have is a Yankees cap and I use it to turn invisible. All I had to do was put it on.) I flipped my hat up in the air and caught it on my head. Percy continued circling the flag at the same pace and I joined. Five kids with swords that were children of Ares jumped out of the trees and five more with bows nocked heir arrows in the trees. I stepped next to Percy, still invisible.

“I’m going to take out the children of Apollo.” I whispered to him. He nodded slightly trying not to show it to our opponents and I jumped into the trees silently. I bounced the branches the children of Apollo were balancing on and they fell. Their legs got caught in the branches and they hung unconscious upside down. I heard some yelling but I couldn’t look yet. There was one more child of Apollo that had been moving tree to tree trying to get a good shot at Percy. I crawled through the thick blanket of trees like a lizard. Then, I pulled the bow out of his hands and he lost his balance in surprise. I looked down to Percy who was standing in front of the pile of 7 unconscious demigods that we had knocked out on the ground. I loosened the branches holding Archers and they fell to the ground with large thuds. Percy dragged them into the pile of half-bloods and clapped his hands. I took off my cap and jumped down. Horns blasted in the distance and I knew the game had been won. I ran over to Percy and hugged him. Once we got back to the Great Lawn I realized that everyone had already headed back to their cabins. Yet is hard to navigate the forest so it took a while to come back. Percy kissed me goodnight and we headed back to our own cabins.
