Prologue
I had never thought about how different my life could be. Since I was young, I thought I would end up like most girls with no mother to take care of me and no father to marry me off. I’d live a simple life by myself as a seamstress, or maybe a baker. Possibly marry a young man with little money to his name and doing hard labor for a rich man who doesn’t pay his employees as much as he should. I’d have several children with said man and play the role of the good wife.
The drab routine of my life took a drastic turn the night my mother was murdered. I was barely old enough to be considered an adult when I was forced to mourn my loss while running for my life, never staying in the same place for too long. One terribly unfortunate day, my time had run out. Yet, something unexpected happened, and the already complicated knots in my life become even more knotted and gnarled. This is the story of how I shaped my life with my own two hands and paved my own road to my future. This is my story.
