Chapter One: The Beginning

Cerberus POV

I watched as Queen Persephone fell victim to Hades after being kidnapped and mentally strained by Hades, giving her false hope that she would return soon after she lay with him and bid him an heir. As desperate as she was she agreed, basically making a deal with the devil himself. Which was something no one should resort to, personal experience. She was with child in the matter of days and carried out her pregnancy in the underworld under my protection as Cerberus, the three headed guard dog of the underworld and Hades. Throughout Persephone's pregnancy I felt strongly drawn to her as I was with her every second of the day. I obviously knew it was because my human side was slowly fading as I haven't been in human form for a long time. Choosing to ignore it I went on with my orders from Hades.

Six months in and Persephone grew larger as it went, becoming unable to do certain tasks which was becoming more difficult since Hades took away my ability to turn into my human form 10 years ago. I did my best to help her with as much as possible in beast form. Hades had ordered me to watch over her as she slept because he was to do some business upon the Earth and he would not be back in 3 days. As I was directing Persephone to bed, she asked if I could sleep in the same room as she was feeling lonely without Hades with her. I gave her a reassuring nod and went inside. She got comfortable in the red silk king size bed, she started to nod off and finally was sound asleep due to her relaxed heart beat. I made myself comfortable on the cold stone floor in the corner and tried to relax, but I heard something faint in the distance and perked up my hearing following the sound, it came from Persephone...her heart beat is beating fast.. Wait hold on.

Cerberus perked his ear up and placed it on Persephone's swollen belly, listening really close to hear a small heartbeat that wasn't Persephone's. His heart begun to warm and he felt almost possessive over this tiny heart beat that belonged to a tiny goddess. It's a female he thought to himself, suddenly he had a vision of a venomously beautiful young woman with half black, half white hair with eyes as dark as the depths of hell. Cerberus instantly fell in love with this women in his visions as he gasped and pulled away in shock. Cerberus steadied himself as he thought over what had happened just then but he did know one thing. This baby is the only thing in this world he knew was meant for him. He would watch over, accompany, teach, protect and care for this child with his life. Deep down he knew she would never feel the same since no one knew that Cerberus was also in fact a man as well as the three headed beast.

The next two days, Cerberus watched closely as Persephone stumbled and struggled with daily tasks as washing herself, cleaning and cooking. He felt bad since he was meant to be watching over her but in beast form he cannot do much to help but the occasional help her sit up and down or pick things up that she dropped. Though when she slept he would rest his three heads on her belly and slightly warm it with his flame. The more time he spent resting his head on Persephone's belly, the more visions he would see. He saw how powerful she will grow to be and how proud she would make her father. On the last night, he did the same as always, warm Persephone's belly to help with the development of the baby. He saw a vision of the baby being overwhelmed with power and become obsessed, Cerberus was shocked and worried for the child. The only way he could fix this was to guide her into the right path, the path of prosperity instead of power hungry. Its decided, he thought to himself then continued.

I will guide her into the right path, whether it kills me or not.
