Chapter 1 : °Smart Kid°
"Ah.. shit!" her face hit the carpet drenched in sweat. Taking 3 punches on the ribs doesn't always leaves anyone in a good shape.
"get up ava" said coach, giving ava a hand. She shrugged it off and get up on her own. Coach's lips tweak a little. Ava stables her body and throw a right jab. Unfortunately, she's not fast enough. As if coach can predict all off ava's movements, she easily dodge her attack and throw an uppercut.
"what's up with you today? moves a little sloppy don't you think?" mia crouched beside exhausted ava, half brows lifted.
"oh i don't know" ava lift her body, both hands above her knees. "maybe it's because you never fulfilled your promise"
Mia gives her a questioning look, her hand scratch her forehead.
"what promise?"
"a month ago. When i managed to kick your ass for the first time. You owe me a dinner"
"what?" mia is still confused. Ava rolled her eyes and leaves the ring. She opens a screen shot from her phone and shows it to mia.
"ahh.. That" mia stands up and snatches ava's phone.
"what are you doing?" ava take a peek and sees mia deleting the screen shot
"what the-"
"i owe you no more" mia gives back her phone. "come on, i'll treat you" she exit the ring and shoves all off her equipment to her gym bag.
"yes!" ava mumbled and trailed behind mia.
"you know, when you said you'll buy me dinner, i didn't expect this" mia put the tray and sit in front of ava, with her legs crossed.
"well, not everyone can afford caviar" she replied, unwrapping her subway sandwich.
"that's not what i meant" ava drinks her soda and mia let out a small giggle.
"so what really happened?" mia asked, her tone stern. Ava look up to mia's gaze, her eyes focused and brows furrowed. When mia is being serious, ava knows she can't joke around.
"well, there's this guy.." ava's voice getting lowered. Her eyes looking away to the window.
"and?"
A moment of silence as ava didn't answered right away. She look at her chicken & bacon ranch melt, thinking back about what happened. The more she thought about it, the more frustrated she gets. She clamps her sandwich.
"and i don't like him" she said and munched her sandwich.
Mia stared in confusion, in all the problems that she thought might happened to ava, this one completely blew her mind off.
"what?" is all that slipped out of her lips.

[A couple days ago]
A sophomore followed ava after she got off the ring, his eyes glowed in awe. "you should teach me how to fight like that. I always thought that all action in action movies were CGI. Until i see you! Yo.. You're amazing!"
"what? Nooo. I'm not that good" ava chuckled as she wiped her sweat. The sophomore sat beside ava and offered her a drink.
"thanks" she replied. As she gulped her energy drink, ava can't help but felt a pair of eyes on her. So she tilted her head.
"uhm.. What's your name?" she asked to the young japanese boy. His eyes lit up and smiled.
"It's yuto, ma'am" he politely bowed his head.
Ava's eyes widen as she saw his actions, she waved both hands before her face
"No no no. Don't call me ma'am. I'm not that old" she chuckled "but you do look young, how old are you?"
"I'm 14-"
"what?" she blurted out in shock, a young woman cut through the crowd and held yuto's hand. Sweat dripped of her forehead as she gasped for breath.
"see! I totally didn't lost him" she said to principal Lim, a huge tired smile across her face.
"off course you didn't" she smiled and walked away with yuto by her side.
"tough day?" ava twisted the cap of her drink. Her friend turned her head, nodding to ava's statements. She sat beside ava, drinking from her bottle.
"what's a 14 year old kid doing here?"
Ara's lips form a smirk "that 14 years old kid you say, is smarter than everyone in this room." she gulped some water again.
Ava narrowed her eyes, still confused
"so?"
"so he can skip 4 years of study" she said, and ava lifted her brows.
"oh" she blurted, shocked and amazed.
"you're pissed because of a smart kid?" mia laughed out loud, crumbs of her sandwich fell off her mouth, she hits her lap repeatedly, stomping her feet like a kid. Everyone stared at them, ava blushed.
"hey! Not because of that! And please stop laughing you're embarrassing us"
She hissed. Mia tried to contain her laughter, her shoulder still giggling.
