Chapter 1
"Nadine!" a very familiar voice shouted. Turning her head to the direction of the voice and finally see her best friend's face could not help her tears from streaming down. "I miss you" she mouthed from afar. Nadine was finally back after 8 years hiding from the world. She was bright, bubbly and full of love until fate came to crash and in a second she was struggling and had lost the smiles she once has had. Nobody knows where she went until last night Sarah had a call from a stranger.
"Sarah! your phone's ringing " said Sarah's mom.
"Who is it?" she answered.
"You didn't save the number."
" Alright mom, one sec" 'This is weird. Nobody would ever call me in the middle of the night other than my fiancé'.
"Hello..? Sarah's speaking" Sarah didn't hear anyone's speaking but she definitely heard someone was sobbing on the line. She tried once again "uhm...hello...is anyone there on the line?" now she heard she was chuckling. 'God damn it tell me this is not a prank call and who in the world would disturb me in the middle of the night.' She cleared her throat and began talking "I don't know who are you and what are you playing at in the mid.." and was cut off with a soothing voice.
"Still the same old Sarah who are easily riled up huh?"
" Oh My Lord, Oh My LORD, OH LORD" Sarah shouted like a mad woman who had lost her first born child and in a second she was sobbing.
"Is...ssk...that...ssk.. you...ssk..Naddie?"
"It's been a while.......isn't it"
"IT'S BEEN AWHILE??? IT'S FREAKING 8 YEARS NADINE WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? I WAS LOOKING FOR YOU, EVERYONE DOES AND AFTER THAT NIGHT YOU DIS.." she was cut off again.
"and finally, I am on my way back to you, I am on my way back Sarah. Could not have missed my baby's wedding reception this weekend."
"YOU SCUM, HOW DARE YOU ARE TELLING ME NOW, IM PICKING YOU UP AT THE AIRPORT!"
She would have never imagined attending her friend or more like her best friend's wedding. After that one night, she moved and start over a new life. Even if she did run away, 8 years long in different countries still she couldn't sleep peacefully and now she was back to see her friend getting married to no other but Sam?? Sam the big bully who always find it amusing teasing her back then in college. Life is indeed, unexpected. They definitely had a long chat the night before the wedding. Sarah's room was surrounded with an abundance of gifts, already and lots of roses but they both managed to squeeze up their petite bodies to lay down on the bed.
"Like seriously SAM CONCEPCION?"
"I know right" Sarah was sighing deeply. "Naddie a lot of things had happened these past few years that you were not around and now in my 28 years of life I have never been so happy, I thought I was never going to see your arse again" Nadine hugged Sarah tightly and they were both cried a river. Sarah continued "but seriously don't laugh at me ya, you might end up with someone you despise the most! Uh huh.." Sarah could not help but smirk at her friend who she did miss every single day.
Nadine thought it was really absurd and rolled her eyes. "Very funny! I know and I'm sorry for the hassles that I have caused but I could not look at this place at that moment, this place was once home but losing A..." Sarah hugged her again.
"Shuh...It's okay, I love you. You don't need to explain. Tomorrow is my big day and I really love Sam and I am beyond happy that you're here with me." They were ready to call off the night when Sarah reluctantly said "Naddie, tomorrow is my day and I have invited lots of people and you are going to meet our old friends again and...you know this one friend..." she paused about 3 seconds and Nadine interrupted
"Sarah! I don't care what kind of friends you have."
"No, Naddie.. Jam..." Nadine covered her friend's mouth to say "SLEEP SARAH, YOU WILL BE HAPPY TOMMOROW AND I WILL BE HAPPY AS WELL OKAY?'
"Right." Sarah lost a word and finally drift off to sleep.
After two hours, Sarah was already fast asleep and snored like a bulldozer meanwhile Nadine was still stuck thinking about all her old friends' reaction tomorrow and all those memories they had when they were younger. She could not help but tears were continuously streaming down her face and she thought to herself 'It was about time to be back Naddie, you did a good job'. Nadine lives alone as both of her parents were dead and now she was back to the Philippines because of the job offer. She was back to take the offer to be transferred and work as a manager in one of the prestigious hotels in the Philippines. It was fate that brought her home.

The wedding hall was decorated perfectly and the theme was white in colour. Everybody was really enjoying the reception and the food was amazing. She had missed lots of her Filipino friends' wedding and she was not going to let Sarah's wedding slipped off. She was wearing a strapless full-length white dress that was just fit in with her body, wore a simple neckless and earrings with a minimal makeup look nevertheless she was the prettiest and everyone's eyes were on her. She would not want to be the centre of attraction thus she sat at a table that was placed at the corner, hardly for lots of people to notice, fortunately, the bride and groom were visible from afar. 'My baby is such a grown up and married woman already.' Her thought was interrupted when she heard someone was coughing behind her back.
"Nadine?" she turned to the voice and found one of her old friend who was looking so decent with a tuxedo. Paulo. He always set his eyes on her. He rubbed his eyes a few times to see whether he was dreaming or it really was Nadine in front of him.
"Paulo, puberty really hits! I almost did not notice you" She joked.
"You will never notice me ey, Nadz?' sounded serious as Nadine almost choke on her drinks but she quickly changed the subject.
" Err.. how have you been Pau, it's good to see you again". Nadine genuinely smiles at Paulo but was interrupted when somebody accidentally crashed her side. Fortunately, nobody was injured but only to find that the bitches of the bitches Evanna was directly looking at her.
"Oh My God, YOU!" she glared at Nadine almost an eternity and Nadine could not utter a single word. She was shocked and just about to turn around and heard a very familiar voice.
"EV I have been looking for you!" With a smirk, Eva turned back to her fiancé and said: "look who is back honey, it's Nadine". It was a turmoil inside her brain, her heart had stopped beating and she slowly looked at the owner of the voice and sighed deeply.
'My worst nightmare, my worst nightmare, my worst nightmare' her brain uttered consciously. Meanwhile, Sarah stood just a few steps away with an apologetic look. Now she understood this was the person who Sarah had tried to tell her last night.
