Prologue: Death Of A Priest
Kagome POV
You all know the story between Inuyasha and me where at one point we couldn’t stand each other. Well, more like Inuyasha couldn’t stand me but later on, we develop a somewhat mature friendship. Soon, we have fallen in love with each other but it wasn’t an easy journey. Due to how our story began when Naraku despite the young couple that Inuyasha and Kikyo have once become. It leads them to despise each other even after years from her first death. Those times where we have our moments but we manage to have a loving relationship. Even after we separated for three years but I wouldn’t trade for anything. Having to be reunited with my husband is the best thing throughout my marriage. During our married life we have three wonderful children together but...my younger twins never got the chance to see their father. About a month before the twins were both my eldest son Inukimi and Inuyasha got into the battle with hellhounds.
It was an intense battle between my husband and son all on their own but in the end. Inuyasha sacrifices his life in order to protect his village. Our home with the people we love as family. It was a hard time where I grief for a long time where Inukimi took the position as the leader of our village. Despite being 120 years which is 12 years old in human age and did a terrific job keeping our home safe. Not to mention that Inukimi inherited strong spiritual powers from my bloodline. He was so well-liked by his younger siblings who look up to him more than anything. The twins, my daughter Kayla (older twin) and my son Inuyasha II (younger twin). They’re the sweetest but also the wildest kids I’ve ever had. While Inukimi is very calm and patient with them which he is very mature for his age. I barely age due to being mated with a hanyou. So I wouldn’t age like a normal human being but still, die like one. Death came through toward my friend Sango, Miroku, and Kohaku all died from natural ages. It was natural for me to grief for such a long period of time. While Rin...fallen into a deep sleep by a demon who put a spell on her while having the determination to murder her. That demon could’ve succeeded but Inukimi manages to save her life with strong medicine. But the spell was too strong for us to break together. We let her sleep in our hut for the time being until she wakes up. When was when Inukimi turn 140 years old and she still looks very age as if she has been 16 for years.
Rin and Inukimi stroke up a platonic relationship but soon she and my son develop a romantic relationship over time. Before tying the knot with a traditional wedding ceremony and I couldn’t ask more than my children to be happy. After the ceremony is when something a familiar item I believe would’ve been forgotten and never return ever again. But, of course, I was wrong...by the descendants of Sango and Miroku is when multiple slayers came to the hut. And proceeded a second Shikon jewel but it was tainted with darkness and corruption. Inukimi being the powerful Priest he obtained the jewel in his hands. Soon began an intense battling between him and that monstrosity. I couldn’t bear seeing him in pain but the twins held me back. The one imagines I’ll never forget is when Inukimi swallows the second Shikon jewel into his body. I gasp and screamed trying to break my younger children's grasp. But they wouldn’t let me until the nightmare was over. Inukimi won the battle but his appearance change with his black hair becoming darker and growing pure yokai marks like his uncle. As expected like the previous Shikon Jewel it would give any hanyou or yokai more powers than necessary. But not everyone demon can handle its power. Unlike my son...his heart and soul were painted with love, kindness, and generosity.
Though danger has its course as always. When other demons hear the appearance of another Shikon Jewel, they all wanted to possess it. Inukimi, Yashi, and Kayla got into intense battles with all of them in order to protect the second jewel. So much blood was a spill on the ground of our villages which lead to the death of my eldest son...my little baby boy. Just when Rin was barely only a few months pregnant, another terror came across our village. That is when I noticed my son...wounded from the chest. He has been viciously attacked by my niece Megumi. I didn’t expect that out of her since she was never violent nor power-hungry. Though the entire family was proven wrong when Megumi attacked the village just the day after she and Inukimi nearly fought to the death cause of that stupid jewel. Yashi and Kayla did their best to hold her off but she was too powerful for them. By succeeding to gain access to the Second Shikon jewel before running away with it. Though she didn’t go too far until I witnessed what I thought will never repeat again.
“Megumi!” Inukimi shouted
My son despite his wound took a single shot of an arrow where Megumi was escaping but that same arrow. Megumi gasp in shock before being sealed by the same tree that Inuyasha has once bound to over many years ago. I looked up at the top of the shrine is seeing Inukimi with his hair down being blown by the wind. With an intense sharp of hatred look on his face. They stare at each other as Megumi reaches her hand out to my son with tears of betrayal.
“Inu...kimi...I...I thought” Megumi stutter before falling into a deep seal where she’ll be bound by that tree. She’ll be asleep until someone with the same power level as my son will break the spell. Though it may take a hundred years...looking at my niece...I just couldn’t bear it. So, I look away and saw Inukimi weakly walking toward the fallen Shikon Jewel in his hands tainted with blood. The villagers were greatly concerned for their leader well being including Yashi and Kayla rushing toward his aid.
“Nii-sama...you’re wounded please rest” Yashi pleaded
“Little brother...I fear my time is up...never I thought this jewel will tear our family apart. But...Little brother...please care and love Mama..burn this jewel with my...“Inukimi breathes his last breath until falling to death in his little brother's arms. I still heard the horrific scream from Yashi when realizing that his brother has passed away in his arms while sobbing on his dead body. Rin nearly went to shock almost losing the baby in the progress. Luckily, both of them survive though I felt guilty for my daughter- in law. Losing her husband and the father of their unborn baby. Is tragic that no one has to go through when losing their child. I wouldn’t wish it upon my worst enemies no matter how despicable they are.
In order to respect my son wishes...I burn his body along the second Shikon jewel. So no other demon has had the power hungry they desire. And hopefully, I wish it will stay that way until I died in order to be reunited with my husband and little Inukimi.
