It was a cold winter's evening in the little town of Trafford close to the western coast of continental Europe. It was Christmas eve in the year 2012 and everyone was indoors, sitting and warming themselves in front of the fire. Normally, at this time of the year, there were usually a lot of fun activities going on such as: carolling, carnivals and fairs. Unfortunately, strange happenings of the last two years have made any form of activity that could attract attention to one's self, a suicide mission.
One of the strangest happening was the sighting of UFOs, which had become a daily occurrence. Alien spacecraft of different shapes and sizes were sighted by many of the town's inhabitants, though the great speeds at which these objects fly almost makes the viewer to believe that they were hallucinating. As such, for a considerable length of time, no one could say for certain, that what they had seen was not an illusion until twenty-five grade five pupils of the Trafford Elementary School mysteriously disappeared
September 16th, 2013 began just like every other day. It was 7a.m. The kids were on their way to school. Since Trafford was only a small town, there were no offices in it. The few people that worked in offices had their places of work situated in the city of Holstom; about ten kilometers from Trafford. The rest of the adult population, which was made up of farmers and small business owners were already at their duty posts. In general, the daily activities associated with small towns like Trafford were already in progress.
While everyone was busy with their daily tasks, a very large albeit invisible spacecraft hovered over the town. Even though it could not be seen, people seemed to sense its presence and it felt as if they were being watched. Although, like I said earlier, without concrete evidence, each one of them assumed that he or she was probably imagining things.
Miss Michelle Brantford; the 5th grade class teacher at Trafford Elementary School, walked unto the classroom at exactly 8 a.m. It was the first day of the new school year and everyone was in high spirits.
"Good morning to you all and welcome to the fifth grade. I am Miss Michelle Brantford, but you can simply call me Miss Michelle, and I will be your class teacher".
"Good morning Miss Michelle", echoed the class.
" Now, first things first, I will like each one of you to come forward and introduce yourself to the class after which we shall have a pop quiz so that I can have an idea of what I'm working with this year", said Miss Michelle.
There were twenty five pupils in the fifth grade; sixteen boys and nine girls. The introductions took about an hour of their time. It was already five minutes past nine when the last child introduced himself to the class as Collins Shepherd. Immediately Collins got back to his seat, Miss Michelle stood up from hers.
"Alright children", she said " now pack your books and get ready for the quiz". And then it happened.
At first, the lights flickered before going out and then there was a strange and extremely high pitched sound from an unknown source which caused Miss Michelle to go mad with pain. She felt a terrible headache; like her head was being slammed against the wall, and her ears began to bleed, but, all the while she could hear the children in her class screaming for help before she eventually passed out, never to regain consciousness.
