Prologue

This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, businesses, events, and incidents are the products of the author’s imagination. This story contains items and ideas found in today's world, such as Instagram, Samsung, Google, etc. Certain institutions, agencies, and public offices are mentioned, but the characters involved are completely made up of the authors' imagination. There are two Deities. Light and Dark. Without one, we cannot have the other. When the scales tip dramatically in Light’s favor, Dark must find a way to steady the scales of the human world or life as we know it will forever be destroyed. Because without balance, there is Chaos, the creator of all Deities and destroyer of worlds. To keep the sides balanced, Tenebris, the Deity of darkness, decides that on the night that the sky falls, he shall bestow seven women with the gift of motherhood. When these seven children come of age, their powers will awaken. Each ability tuning to the personality and mind of its vessel.

A cloud of black smoke appeared and out stepped Tenebris, the Dark deity. The light deity’s stance turned defensive. “Why have you stepped foot in my domain, Tenebris?”

“You must have felt the shift in the balance of this world.” Those words caused Lux’s stance to falter. The deities shared a look. They both knew of the pending danger if the balance was not righted.

“You’re right I have felt it but, how will we right this problem?” The two stand idle for a few minutes until Tenebris says “What about children? They are pure of heart, mind, and body.”

“Children? Those pesky things? Hmm. That might be a good idea.” Lux rubbed the bright white beard sitting upon his pale chin. He turns and walks to the middle of the room and pulled up one of the many holographic globes in his dimensions. “Seven children. One for each continent.”

“One for each hero.” Tenebris inquired as he went to stand next to Lux. He pricks his finger and as silver blood slowly flows out he touches seven different places on the map.

As his finger made contact with the map, a piece of his power manifested and fell from the heavens, landing in the 7 different locations around the world. Japan, Melbourne, Madrid, Idjwi Island, The Galapagos, Chicago, and Deception Island. In each place could be found a woman. Whether she was sleeping, eating, working, swimming, each woman felt a jolt of warmth. It was as if they had just gotten a shot of adrenaline.

“Well, that was easy. You’re not gonna make the sky turn red or make the earth shake?” Lux snickered. “I thought you were more into theatrics than that.”

The unamused deity turned and walked away from him. “No.” He waved his hand a wall of black smoke and as he stepped into it he said, “That... is you.”

Lux immediately ceased laughing. He whipped around in annoyance and scoffed before heading back to his ‘throne’.

Meanwhile, seven new beings were forming in the wombs of 7 special women all around the world, unaware of how special those being will be.
