Chapter one, It Begins

Time to time I wonder what it's like to have a power. Most of the time I wish bullies weren't a thing. I wandered into room 103 and looked at the guy at the back of the class. I wonder if he talks. I sat in my seat and arranged my books in a neat pile. Three girls came strolling in whispering and they were wearing clothes that were against school rules. Shorter skirts than the uniform, their dyed hair down, rings and other accessories, painted nails, and a bunch of girly stuff. I stared at them.

"Too bad you don't have any of these nice things we have. Perhaps you're just too poor to afford them. And you are so dumb, how did you even get into this school?" I blushed. I looked down at my uniform. Red and white were quite stylish, but dresses looked so weird on me. They sneered.

"Hey, I have an answer to that." I turned around. There was a boy with sky blue eyed and brown lushous hair. Who was this boy?

"You get into this school by brains or money. We got into this school by brains. You got in with money, so where's you're brains? Hm?" I was so glad he stood up for me. Usually people would stare and laugh. Ugh. The girls rushed to their seats whispering and scowling at me.

"Did that cute guy just roast the cutest girl ever?" The leader of their little girl group said.

"Uh thanks for helping me, but I really didn't need your help. I'm pretty much used to it-" Then he softly touches my hand.

"Call me Xenos. It's not my real name, don't ask..Twilight." I widened my eyes.

"Will you at least tell me you're last name?" There was silence. He let go of my hand and walked to the exit. Before he went he muttered,

"No." And walked out. I put my hands on my desk and fidgeted with my pen. That boy was scaring me.

After that, everything was pretty normal. Xenos was not in my class for the whole day somehow, and he hasn't talk to me until three days later. When I got home three days later I tried to message him using his e-mail. But seems like he doesn't have a mobile phone yet. I let go of my phone and dropped onto my lap.

"He's not gonna answer!" I grumbled. My phone beeped. It was Xenos.

"Sorry couldn't see your msg. I lost my mobile phone😒." He texted. My eyes lit up and I sat upright on the couch.

"Why wouldn't you talk to me in school?😔" I texted back, peeking over the couch to see if my mom came home yet. She always suspects me if I'm texting or calling a stranger. And it's so annoying. There was no answer. I put my phone down and sighed. Somebody knocked on the door.

"W-who is it?" I stammered.

"I-It's Xenos." I opened the door. I widened my eyes. I opened my mouth.

"Xenos? Mom?"

"Who is this man?" My mom said, glaring at him.

"His name is Xenos.. my friend." He's basically an acquaintance but it still works. He blushed. But I needed my mom to trust him so "friend" was all I could think of.

"Y-yeah, I'm her tutor. For school." I nodded. My mom grinned.

"This fellow looks trusted. Anything to get my baby's grades up! Come on in!" She gently laid her bag down on the seat and hurried to the kitchen.

"Do you guys want anything? Coke? Sprite? Ice tea?"

"Just water please." Replied Xenos.

"We're gonna go study now, bye mom." I seized his wrist as we rushed up the stairs and dashed past the bathroom and sped into my room.

"What was that rush for?" Xenos murmured, massaging his wrist.

"Why are you here?" I demanded. He laughed.

"To tutor you, of course."

I thought he was kidding. He grabbed two books and three textbooks and two pencils.

"Oh..shoot." Somebody burst through the door. I noticed it was just my mom.

"Here's your water kids!"
