Introduction
“I’m all in.”
That’s all he said. Those exact same words. Whispering in my ears, shivering down my bones. Never thought I could love someone as deeply as loved him. Never thought I’d be the one experiencing love in it’s humblest way, in it’s best way.
The truth is, love isn’t easy to find, not the specials ones. I can say from my own experience, that loving hurts and it leaves scars that haunt you forever, but in the end, it alls conspires in favor. When you meet the one, the real one, things start looking easier, then it just gets harder and harder. I guess it’s just a way of God to test us. To see if we really deserve each other.
I met Justin in a cafe. He was ordering a vanilla cold brew. I always used to think that the guy who i’d fall in love with would save my life you know? I had this heroic act playing in my head, where i’d be walking down the street on a Karl Lagerfeld's dress, and then a car would almost hit me, but this charming blonde guy would pull me and save me. Well, we can say i've always been a little too much on the fairy tails. They give me hope, that maybe things are supposed to be good, that everyone has their "happy ever after". At least i hope we do.
Never imagined that the love of my life would be a vanilla cold brew kind of guy. Never imagined i'd meet the most important person on a Starbucks. I mean, what's the fun in that? Don't get me wrong, but as you read the story, you will understand.
But you guys are probably already confused, something I tend to do, you get used to it! I got way ahead of myself, but i just talk too much sometimes, baby steps shall we?
First, my name is Anna, Anna Hall.
I’m a teacher actually, started working on this very sweet school with a lot of kids. Yes. Kids, I love them, that’s why teach kindergarten. I get to be part of a kid’s life, a little human beeing’s education. I feel very important doing this job. You will be hearing a lot about them. But also got my other passion, i’m a writer on my free time, i write all kind of thinks, all to myself really, i can’t get anyone publishing it, so i guess its just a dream in progress.
I live in a small apartment on long island with my roommate Heather, we've been friends pretty much our whole lives, we met when we were kids and just got inseparable. She is a free spirit person, likes fashion, has traveled the world, her dad pays her bills and everything she wants, so it gets easier for her not to be really responsible, she is full of stories to tell. She has dated like 20 guys already, she has stories about drunk nights in the Louvre, about how she was kicked out of Lady Gaga's party. Everything, she tells me tons of shit that she's done. But not a single love, she's never felt love, not by a guy or girl. I find funny because i always thought she would marry a DJ. Guess that's just not what she wants now.
Anyway, just so you can get a picture of me, I’m a brunette with normal brown eyes. Actually, a pretty normal girl from Philly, who was tired of the quiet life so came to New York to maybe write a book, and to know new people. Just needed a change, you know? It was either this or moving to Washington and becoming a politician, which i DO NOT think would be the best of ideas.
Well, enough about me. This thing is not (only) about me. It’s about the love story of a regular girl and a not so regular guy. A really beautiful story, two people who have been through so many things but survived because of love.
Justin was such a special guy, pushed people to do their best. He was never satisfied with "okay", he wanted "great". He was kind and loving, but so complicated. I mean, the guy had a lot of scars, not from ex-girlfriends, from his life, from it all. Even when he was hurting, he would put a really beautiful smile at his face, and pretend he was olay. Just so people wouldn't worry about him. There will be a chapter in this book that only talks about how amazing he was. How he changed all the lives that he crossed, how he'd touch people.
This is not just so you can al know how great he was. It is to keep us alive. Our love, our story, all of us. Our friends family. it's for all of us to remember that fairy tails are real, that love is real. We were real.
From now on you will be diving in emotions; happiness, sadness, anger, all at once. I will be showing you the purest love. I’m proud to say i met Justin Jacobs. JJ for close friends. You will get to know him, hate him and love him, just like I got to. Enjoy the ride. I know I did.
