Rumours

I stepped into class, when I was bombarded with questions. All my classmates ran towards me, eager to talk.

"Juniper, is it true?"

"Are you really in a relationship with him?"

"Juniper! Did you really do what I think you did!?"

I backed out into the hallway. What the heck was everyone talking about?

The questions kept coming, and eventually I shouted at everyone, tired of their questions. They were all prying and trying to find out the latest gossip.

"Stop!" I shouted. My classmates fell silent and all stared at me, waiting for an answer.

"What the hell are you all even talking about!?" I shouted at everyone, annoyed.

"Aren't you in a relationship with-"

"No! I'm not it a relationship with nobody!" I exclaimed, pushing past my classmates to get to class. I stormed into class, and sat down in my seat.

Who the hell are they to pry into my life? And what relationship? Relationship my butt. I don't ever want to be in one.

I put my head on the table, as I wait for the teacher to arrive. My classmates were still outside. But after a while, did they come back in. And with the teacher at their heels.

"Everyone sit down!" Ms. Lee said, tapping her podium with her hand.

Everyone shuffled towards their seats and sat down, reluctantly.

"So, will someone explain to me what in the heavens was going on out there in the hallways?" Ms. Lee commanded, irritation at the edge of her voice.

"Juniper's in a relationship, but we don't know if it's true or not!"

I turned my head at the voice. It was Matthew, the new kid in our class.

I glared at the back of his head, wishing I could shoot lasers through his head.

Ms. Lee looked at me with a questioning glare. But then she averted her eyes, and looked at the entire class.

"It's her business, so don't bother her," Ms. Lee said. She sighed and started teaching us.

While Ms. Lee taught, I couldn't seem to focus. Time to time, my classmates would look at me. And thoughts, were whizzing in my head.

What were my classmates talking about? Did someone spread a rumour just to spite me? It so, who would do such thing?

And by the time class ended, I couldn't remember a single thing Ms. Lee had said.

"Class dismissed," Ms.Lee organised the papers on her podium, and sighed.

All my classmates stood up and left, eager to get away. While they left, I could see a few of them still giving me looks. I was tired of everything, tired of the looks they give me.

I gathered my stuff, and started walking after my classmates, when Ms. Lee called out to me. I spun around, to see the teacher behind me.

"Yes?"

"Are you really in a relationship?" Ms. Lee asked. She was uncertain, and I've never really talked to anyone unless they talked to me first. I wasn't really approachable either, and I don't really have any friends.

I shook my head.

"I have no idea what the heck the rest of the class is talking about," I said.

"O-okay. You can go now," Ms. Lee said, nodding at the direction of the door.

I turned around and bolted out the door. I wanted the day to end, really badly. I didn't want to be in school no longer, with everyone asking me questions about my so called, 'relationship'.

Obsidian: I liked the story. It was great in its own way. I'm the type that likes the night clubs, the cities, the dark allies. It might be a little on the light side for me (the other side would be the dark side) but overall, its a good read. Also, a little short, but as a writer who tends to rush things mys...
