Meet
"Sophia hurry up, I've been waiting for the longest!" "I'm coming!" Sophia yells from upstairs to her friend who is impatiently waiting for her. They're on their way to their typical Saturday night out, you can find them out most weekends.
Sophia makes her way downstairs in a short satin red dress with black high heels and her short blond hair down in waves, her friend on the other hand is a little more reserved had on black and white striped dress pants with a white spaghetti strap blouse and red heels with her black straight hair down to her shoulders. "Must you always go out looking for attention soph?" "Yes, all attention must be on me or the party isn't fun" Sophia smirks while putting her arm around her best friend Lucia "ready baby girl?"
As they are waiting in line outside the club the girls are approached by some old friends, they hug and greet each other and Sophia's eyes quickly go to the quiet guy in the back she smiles mischievously to herself.
As the bouncer is letting everyone in Sophia stays back to be right in front of the quiet guy she saw, she turns around pretending she was looking for someone in the back but all she was doing was making sure he saw her. As she went inside the club Lucia was waiting for her "you told me you weren't going to leave me tonight and that's the first thing you do soph" "My bad luc there was something I was interested in out there, but I won't leave you anymore".
The girls went straight for the bar to take their first shot of the night, first out of many. The night went on the girls danced, flirted, did their usual malicious of the night, their friend Andrea came up to them with a shot for them each "hey those guys up there want you guys to come up to VIP with us, they both look up at the section to see what guys she was talking about and to Sophia's luck it was the section where her shy guy was. "Of course we'll go".
"Hey guys these are my friends Sophia and Lucia" the girls waved and gave everyone a slight hug, Sophia mood had a drastic change when she saw quiet guy already talking to someone, she rolled her eyes, grabbed a shot from the table and started dancing with someone else. As time went by Sophia noticed Lucia was nowhere in sight, She quickly grabbed her phone from her purse and texted her friend "wya?" "Jacob picked me up, he said he wanted to talk things out, Im drunk so I gave in, Sorry! love you!" Sophia rolled her eyes "Im so over tonight" she sighed to herself.
She walks to the main entrance of the club and orders herself an Uber, Of course she was so tipsy she had to wait sitting down at one of the benches outside. "Hey!" someone shouts out to her, as she looks up to see who it is she realizes she's a lot more than tipsy, the stranger makes his way closer to her and she starts to see who it is, she quickly fixes herself and tries to sit up straight.
"You ok?" He asks, "I'm ok" She smiles "My friend left already so I figured it was time for me to go to so I called an Uber" "Do you want me to take you home?" He asked, looking around unsure if she would take it wrong. "No I'm ok, I dont think I should be getting into a strangers car let alone tipsy. He smiles "I think I'm more trustworthy than the uber that's about to pick you up" She slightly laughs "That's true, lets go"
The car ride was quiet, he didn't say much and neither did she, The ride home was coming to an end and she didn't want to get home and not have at least gotten his name. "Can I at least get your name that way I know who to thank for saving me from taking an Uber home?" "My name is Nicolas" he says while taking a glance at her "and you're Sophia, right?" She smiles, She didn't want the ride to come to an end, she wanted to drive around town along his side all night long.
They were approaching her house and by their facial expression you could tell they were dispirited. She looked up at him as he pulled into her driveway "I hope to see you again" she smiled slightly "instead of hoping we could make it happen, after all you do have me on Instagram" she gasps "I do?" "Yeah guess you didn't notice with all those people you follow" he chuckled, her cheeks turned a bright red color "I'll message you" She said as getting out of the car "thanks for the ride Nicolas"
Several days went by and Sophia didn't message Nicolas, even when she really liked a guy it was never enough to not play her mind games with them, although he hadn't messaged her either which made her more intrigued by him. Bing! her phone went off and she quickly opened her DMs of course it was a message from him, she let a couple of minutes go by before opening it "By the time you would've messaged me we both would've been married with kids so I figured I would message you"
She chuckled to herself, she laid in her bed as the conversation went on and on, all that wasn't said in that car ride to her house was said there. "Why don't we go to dinner tonight?" he messaged the question she was waiting for, she didn't think he was going to say that same night, she needed time to plan what to wear, time to get ready but her desire to see him made her not think about it too long "I'd love to" she replied with no hesitation.
Sophia looked up at the top of the phone screen "6'o clock" "FUCK!" she cursed to herself and got up quickly out of her bed and straight to her closet, clothes flying everywhere, she sighed in aggravation of not being able to find anything to wear, per usual closet full but casual girl problem nothing to wear. Finally she found a black little dress it was simple yet sexy, She noticed Nicolas was a very reserved guy so she didn't want her outfit to draw too much attention, didn't want to give him the wrong impression. Her nails were painted red like always, her hair up in a tight ponytail and slight natural make up look, she put on her favorite Gucci bamboo perfume and her nude wedges she got from a cute little boutique downtown, she was set to go. BING! "I'm outside".
"I hope you like Italian food" he says as he opens the passenger door to let her out "who doesn't" she replied while grabbing his hand for assist to getting out the car. They started to make there way to the restaurant "You look beautiful by the way" he looked up at her and saw a little smile draw on her face when he said that. "Thank you, you look nice yourself"
As they go inside she noticed the waitress quickly went up to them "Hey Nic, would you like your usual table?" Sophia's eyes quickly glared up at him, usual table? she thought how many girls has he brought here, maybe he isn't so reserved after all. As they were seated at the table Sophia didn't wait long after the waitress to question him about what she just said
"Um, Nic? you come here often?" "yeah, I come here all the time" he grinned, knowing what response was coming he quickly defended himself before she could get her argument in "With my buddies from work, since it's down the street" "oh..." She laughed nervously, almost embarrassed. "I recommend the 4-layer pasta it's really good" he said trying to move on from the subject he could feel she felt a little awkward after that.
They ordered their food and continued to get to know each other, they conversation got deeper and deeper by the minute, each question being more intimate than the last one. "You're the first girl I've took out in almost a year since me and my ex broke up, I know that's hard to believe but I'm very picky over girls, I don't want to sound sus but girls these days are all the same, same mentality, I'm just not into that" Sophia felt a little intimated but at the same time flattered by his comment.
"What happened between you and her?, if you don't mind me asking?" "She cheated on me with some dude then moved with him to NYC" Sophia just looked at him not knowing what to say "It's crazy how you can do so much for a person and they turn around and do you wrong without even hesitating" he continued, all she could do was listen to him he still sounded hurt over what happened and something about him made him sound genuine about everything he was saying.
"but it's your turn when was the last time you were in a relationship and what happened?" she sighed, she was dreading that question the whole conversation "well.." she started "I haven't been in a relationship in a long time, he cheated, left me for someone else and had a baby with her, the worst part is he still looks for me every once in a while, guys are terrible" He smirked "Not all of us".
They enjoyed the rest of the night eating, laughing and conversing, could easily call this a perfect date. They walked to his car in silence after dinner but not an awkward silence more like peaceful. "I kinda don't this night to end" he said looking at her "what do you say if we go do something else?" she looked at him intrigued "like?" "I don't know, maybe we could go walk around downtown, go to the movies or whatever you want" he said optimistically "Why don't you surprise me" she said cocking her head up at him. "say less" he grabbed her hand and sped to the car.
"Wow I can see the whole city from up here" She said, they were at the top of the highest parking lot building in their city, with the perfect view of the whole city, he played music from his car loud enough for them to hear it from the outside "I love this song" she said, He just smiled and watched her in awe as she looked at the beautiful view he had brought her to.
She looked back at him "Thank you, tonight was perfect" "I have a feeling this won't be the last time we meet, I'll make sure every time we see each other is better than the last, I know how corny I sound right now but I couldn't have took a chance on a better girl, can't help but to feel anxious to what's to come"
Even though it was only their first date and they were just getting to know each other everything felt genuine between them, they were both excited about what's to come, even Sophia after so long of trying to be tough and not fall in love and just have fun, she knew this guy was going to change that whether it be for good or for worse, she was excited to find out.
