The Meeting
It was the start of a new school year, and I just so happen to be the new kid. It seems like I'm at a different school each year, my parents always move to a different state almost every summer summer. When I was younger I'd be lucky to even last a whole school year.
It's tough, you know? Always moving and never being able to keep friends. That's why I'm glad my parents decided to stay put for now. I'm going to be senior anyway, I'll be off to college soon and there's no point for them to move then.
I sighed, and slipped on my Converse, I grabbed my bag and head out the door. "Bye, Mom! Bye, Dad!" I yelled on my way out.
"Bye, honey!" Mom replied. "Have a great first day!" Dad added. Since we moved only 4 blocks away from the school, I figured I'd walk.
The walk wasn't too bad, I mean, it only took like five minutes. I inhaled, preparing myself for today, I had no idea what to expect. Will people like me? Will I make any friends? Will I make an enemy? My hands started getting clammy as I walked closer to the school entrance.
Every thing will be fine.
I tell myself as I open the door. The cool air from inside brushes against my face. I walked in trying to seem casual. Nobody looked at me. Not even a glance. I know I shouldn't be disappointed because honestly, I don't want people to look at me. Let's just say, being the new girl is not like in the movies.
I chuckled to myself and looked down. I turned a corner and hit something. Hands grabbed my arms to try and stabilize me. "Are you okay?" A voice asked. I looked up to see the source of the voice. A boy with dark brown hair looked at me with concerned golden brown eyes.
"Uh- um.. ya?" I said. "s-sorry," i mumble, stammering over my words. He gives out a quiet chuckle and grins.
"You're cute." He said, still grinning. I could feel my cheeks heating up. There was no doubt I wasn't blushing. He smiled and walked off.
I couldn't believe what just happened. I looked around to see if anyone saw that, luckily nobody did. Or at least I hope.
After being frozen in place for a few more seconds I headed to my locker. I unlocked it and placed my books inside. When I closed my locker I saw the guy I ran into, I gasped in part shock and part embarrassment. He turned at the noise and a smug look fell across his face.
"Back for more, I see?"
"No, I just so happen to get a locker right next to yours."
"I haven't seen you around before, you new?"
"Ya, I'm Breana, Bre for short" I say with a small smiled.
"That's a quite lovely name." He said. I couldn't help but blush, "thankyou." I replied.
"I'm Tobias, Tobby for short" he winked at me.
I smirked and the bell rang. "Bye, Tobs" I said as I rushed to first period.
It was half way through class when the door opened. I didn't really pay attention, though, I was too busy doing work. The
n next thing I knew
someone plopped down in the empty seat besides me.
The teacher looked
up from his desk.
