What is your opinion?

A Dystopian read that outshines the rest

"Considering that this is a genre (dystopian, futuristic) that I have limited experience reading, the author did a great job of world building, character development, and hooking the reader (not to mention keeping their attention throughout future chapters) at the start. In reading the first ten chapters i got an immediate sense of each character, their personality quirks, and how their "gifts" have shaped them. I felt that most people reading the story, regardless of age, would get the sense of genuine, full-bodied characters and would find them appealing and at times, humorous and likeable. I feel that they were not overdone or underdone in terms of development, and the author should feel proud to have accomplished this. "

An Exciting What-If the Sun Exploded Scenario!

"QuickShot1445 gives us an intriguing look into what could happen to the world should the sun explode, turning into a completely different star. Plants would have to evolve, and their mutations would affect the animals that ate them, and in turn, carnivores would be affected. This, of course, would also affect us - so, yes, there’s mutant humans! Faced with a world of fiercely predatory nature, humans are in a constant battle against nature. Yikes! Having read the first 10 chapters of “Yellow Sun Academy” for the Green Exchange Awards ‘25, I was struck by this fascinating world and the events that lead our young protagonists, Hothead, Shocker, and Jumper, into a the exciting world of Fighter apprenticeship, as they are enrolled in the prestigious Yellow Sun Academy. If you ever thought your first-day exams were difficult, you’ll think again as you follow these kids on an extreme desert survival test! While I absolutely love the storyline and characters, I did find the multiple 1st-person POV a bit cumbersome, so suggest going with a 3rd-person POV instead. I also would have liked more emotional shows primarily in the first five chapters to make the protagonists more relatable. But they definitely grow on you as you proceed, and I can’t wait to read on to see if they succeed! Grammatics and technical writing is good; the errors are few and not so bad as to hinder the reading. My biggest advice is to work on active vs passive voice and redundant and repetitive wording. I feel there’s an excellent story here and lots of potential for growth. I highly recommend this read!"

Yellow Sun Academy

"This novel has a lot of potential with a solid and engaging plot, along with some interesting characters. The grammar is well-executed, making it easy to follow. However, I feel the characters could use more depth. While they are interesting, I would love to see more detailed descriptions and backstories to really bring them to life. Giving them more personality and complexity would make the story even more captivating. Overall, it's a great read with a lot of promise, and with a little more character development, it could easily reach its full potential! "
