Prologue
Alexis and Alexa are sisters, twin sisters. They are both 6 years old. Their mother died in a car crash almost a year ago, when they were five. The twins father. He isn't in the picture, he said he wasn't ready for a child, for twins to be specific. Alexis and Alexa were the only children, that is, until they were four years old. Their mom, Allison, adopted a fourteen year old girl, Oakley Rose, she was quite mature at fourteen. But now, she's 16 and she's the only one taking care of the twins. She treats them as her own, she knows what it feels like to be without a mother, she's experienced it for 14 years, and she won't let her little adoptive sisters feel the same any longer.
Oakley doesn't let anything come between her and her little sisters. She always turns down anyone or anything that tries to come into their lives. Some may think Oakley is over exaggerating, but she just calls it Protective Motherly Instinct or PMI. With Alexis being shy and Alexa autistic, Oakley doesn't have any other time to deal with anything other than her sisters.
Little does she know, somebody will come along.
