The family of vampires.

MAYCEYS POV

Today is the day. The day that I finally let Kovur drink Starbucks in my car again. Man won't this be a mistake. My poor baby leather black seats with red threading. I think I might love my Jeep too much.

"I promise I won't spill anything on your seats." I look over at her with the mom look.

"Seriously Kovur? You really think that I'd believe that considering last time."

"Whatever just place the order and get the drinks I'll pay."

I pulled up to the window after putting in our order and got our white chocolate mochas on ice. The only way we ever told the difference was that Starbucks always wrote a six on my cup for six extra shots of espresso. For Kovur's cup they always put a 7 on it, for it being her favorite number.

"Okay you can't spill it at all." I said in a stern tone.

"I won't but, I do have a question."

"What is it?”

"Who’s Emberlynns dad?” I almost spit out my drink.

"His name is luc and yes he's also a vampire."

"Oh so he's a royal I'm guessing, a pure blood."

"Yes, but why do you care? I’m with Kai.”

"Why are you so tense about this subject?" She asks me as I sit up high, and grip the steering wheel tighter.

"It's just that I haven't seen him in years, he doesn't even know about Emberlynn, and the fact that he probably doesn't remember me."

"How could he not remember you?! You're so perfect." I could feel the tears stinging my eyes wanting to force their way out.

"Not everyone can keep memories made over the years Kovur." I said while turning the owner to my house.

I lived with my husband Kai, and my baby girl Emberlynn. My parents died when the vampire council murdered them. I was let to be free of course me only being 114 they saw a long life ahead of me.

Boy were they right, now I work with a multimillion dollar business, I live in a grand house, have an amazing car. But, I'd throw all that away, because the only thing that matters is Emberlynn. I just want her to be raised right though, knowing that her mom is strong and capable of more than she could imagine.

As we got into the garage after the long drive down the driveway, I turned off the ignition, got my trash and went inside the house. Kovur was still trying to function while getting her things and coming inside.

"Hi Ms. Pearce I hope your day was fine." My maid Samantha greeted me as I came inside.

"Well we went shopping for Embers first birthday and of course we got Starbucks. We bought you some Chick-fil-A with your favorite Dublin Irish coffee."

"Oh thank you so much!" She said taking the food and going into the kitchen.

"Oh my beautiful baby girl!" I saw my beautiful eleven month old daughter walk to me as she squealed loudly.

"Come here babygirl!" The time has gone by so fast, and she's so adorable.

Being a mother wasn't on my checklist seeing as I was only fourteen. Well more like 114, yeah I know I'm a still considered a youngling. I'm now 115 as of April third. But, I'd never change a thing in my life. I may have made stupid choices but Emberlynn was never stupid. She was a perfect bundle of joy that I had in a dark place.

"Hey Kovur she's getting more teeth in." Kovur being Kovur she rushed over and took Ember out of my arms and played with her for a while.

"Any problems?" I asked Samantha.

"Well she did have more blood than she did yesterday and her eyes are starting to turn deep red. She did try to bite me too but then again when she does she doesn't mean it." Samantha is also a vampire, she's a half blood not a pure blood though. But, thats why Emberlynn wants to bite her, pure blood babies like to drink off of half bloods.

"I'm sorry about her bitting, did she at least drink out of the blood bag bottles I froze for her?"

"She did my Queen." Oh great the Queen thing, just amazing.

"Please not with the Queen thing again, I don't even know if I'm the heir to the thrown still." I said in a shaken tone.

"Well you are the Queen, and rightful heir to the throne.” She quickly spat out in a pool of defense.

"True but I’m happy here with Kai.” I closed the conversation. I turned on my heel walking over to Emberlynn and Kovur.

“Can I see her?” I clapped my hands at my baby girl and took her from Kovurs arms.

“I got my baby fix so it’s all good.”

“Well I just love you so much Emberlynn.” I looked at her and she looked at me with her big blue eyes.

Vampires only get red eyes when they are hungry, but Emberlynns eyes are a dark ocean blue. Like mine.

“I love you so much Emberlynn Renae. I hope you know that daddy loves you too and he’ll be home from work later tonight.” I said to her as she leaned her head on my shoulder.

“Oh but Ember mommy loves so much more than you’d ever know.” I froze upon hearing that voice. So raspy, perfect, and deep.

I turned around and looked at Kai. My husband.

“Who let you out of the office so early?” I joked around with him.

“Well seeing as I’m the CEO and your boss I thought I deserved some family time today.” He put his things down and headed over to Emberlynn and I.

“So I was thinking we could go out to eat tonight.” He took Emberlynn and held her.

“You know we can’t do that, we are saving up for Fiji. So let’s just stay in tonight.” I felt bad saying that, but we really wanted this property by next year.

“Wait so why do you guys have to save up for Fiji, you already have like five personal planes.” Kovur looked at us with a twisted confused face.

“Do you wanna take the lead on this one?” I looked at Kai and asked him.

“Well you see here, we have set up a financial savings plan for Emberlynn. So that way when she goes off to college she can buy a house, car, books, lunch fees, and clothes. For all four years. Since it’s Ivy League it’s pricy. So we have budgets.” He told her as he poured some whiskey.

Kai rarely drank at all. He saw what it did to his dad and whiskey has vervain in it. Meaning that it could kill him. That’s what it did to his father. But if Kai rarely drinks then it’ll just build up a tolerance.

“Now do you understand?” I asked Kovur.

“How much does Emberlynn need?” She looks at me dead in the eye.

Kai puts down the glass of whiskey and says two words.

“30 million dollars.” Kovurs mouth dropped faster than the speed of light.

“That would cover insurance, healthcare, school, housing, and her car, do all four years of college. Including clothes.”

“Well then I’m going to leave you guys, I have a date tonight so I’ll tell you how it goes!” Kovur said her goodbyes and left for her date.

TWENTY MINUTES LATER.

“She’s asleep. Finally.” I walked out of Emberlynns room and sat on the couch next to Kai.

“Are you okay lately?” He asked me.

“What do you mean?”

“Well you’ve been off lately, like for the past couple of weeks you’ve been really moody.” He and I both realized.

“Shit!” I ran upstairs to the bathroom and checked under the sink. I pulled out a pregnancy test.

“Here’s some water you might wanna drink the whole bottle for the test.” Kai handed me the bottle and I chugged it all.

Since human food and drinks run through our systems faster I had to pee in less than a minute.

I peed on a stick and waited three minutes with Kai for this news.

“We just got Emberlynn eleven months ago. You’re not even her father. Lucifer is her father.”

“I know Maycey. Telling me this won’t make it any better than it already is.”

“I’m sorry, what do you want me to say that I should just not worry about it and maybe nothing will happen.” I turned around and went to the pregnancy test.

Two lines.

Two blue lines.

Two.

I was crying at this point not knowing what to do.

I was pregnant again. At 115 I hate myself.

I told myself I’d be better than this.

“Hey, hey it’s okay, you and I can do this. We are married for sakes.”

“I know but Embers so young and I’m only 115 and you’re 123.”

“Age is just a number at this point. Quite literally, babe you and I can do this, we’ve been hiding from Lucifer for almost a year now keeping you and Emberlynn safe.” He was right

I love him, I love Emberlynn. Now we have to share this love to a new baby. We can do it.

“Okay, lets be parents. Again!”
