Prologue

People think that death is quick and easy, that's not the case for Mark Derickson his death took hours. He bled slowly and painfully the knife wounds stung as he breathed in and out very slowly.

Mark didn't think his life would end at the young age of twenty three but he guessed wrong, he thought that he would grow old with his twin sister Mary who probably wasn't thinking that her twin brother could be close to dead right at the very moment because she thought the same exact thing that they would grow old together.

Mark's killer looked down at him as he died, she had to know he was really dead before they left so they wouldn't get caught. Then she would get paid by her boss and live her long happy life, knowing she took an innocent life and that he would never have children or find the love of his life like she did.

She probably didn't even know that he had a twin sister waiting for him to come visit her like he did everyday, she probably didn't know that he had a best friend that drank with him at the bar every Saturday. She definitely didn't know that he worked at the nursing home every Tuesday, letting his dog Baxter lay with them on the hospital bed and now Baxter was whining for his owner in Mark's bedroom.

She kicked Mark, she had to make sure he was dead but of course it wasn't that easy. Mark groaned and coughed up blood.

"Come on dude this isn't easy for me or you." She said and Mark looked up at her, his bright green eyes looking as if they were losing the brightness, you could tell he was dying painfully.

So as she was getting anxious someone was going to catch her she decided to take the already bloody knife and started to stab Mark's chest, neck and any other place she could stab him in. Blood spattered the walls and her face, finally she stopped and looked down on him. Mark's eyes weren't bright anymore they were lifeless and his hands weren't clutched up into fists anymore they were just laying there, like they were waiting there for someone to hold them. She went on her knees and put her ear on his chest, she couldn't hear the thump, thump, thump of his heart and she concluded that Mark Derickson was dead.

She sobbed, sobbed as hard as she could. She pictured her own husband or son like Mark was and couldn't take it. She killed someone and did it for only the money, the money. Money couldn't equal a human life, a human life that had so much more time ahead of him, she didn't even realize that he was only in his twenty's. Finally she got up and started to walk around the house in a daze, looking at his family pictures and realizing that he had a sister and a family that probably loved him dearly. She then heard the scratching and whining that came from a bedroom, his bedroom so she opened it and a husky came out and ran up to Mark's body.

She hurriedly cleaned up the knife and made sure there was no fingerprints, she washed the blood off her face. She was glad she was wearing all black so no one would notice the blood on her shirt or pants, she looked around the kitchen one last time and looked at Mark's dead body before walking out of the house like nothing happened.

She walked up to the warehouse and knocked trice on the door so they knew that it was her and not some stranger.

"Get in." His gruff voice said and she hurriedly opened the door, walking in she saw him sitting at the table playing poker with some of his buddies.

"Did you do it?" He asked and she nodded her head.

"Yes sir, I did." She said, her voice visibly shaken.

"The money is in the suitcase." He said, putting a card down on the table and she nodded her head, hurriedly she grabbed the suitcase and started to walk out.

"Hey!" He yelled and she slowly turned her head to where he was siting.

"Remember if you snitch, your family is as good as dead!" He growled, she let out a whimper and nodded her head.

"Good. Leave now." He said and she basically sprinted out of the warehouse. Finally she was free from him and never ever had to do another deed for him.
