Heartbreak.
They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, yet yours hide quietly behind the closed curtains. So many secrets hide behind the cloth, it’s hard to understand why you are here at all. Your words cut through my thoughts as sharply as a sword being held to my throat. Lies come out of your mouth like a song so rehearsed you know it by hard. A shiver goes through my spine as tears threaten to drown my eyes. It seems like you don’t notice as your lips continue to fight. Why, may I ask, why now? Everything had seemed so nice, until our worlds fell apart. The reason remains far out of my reach yet I cannot pretend to not see. You look so different, and so still. Not the joyous self you used to be. As empty as my mind when you say the things that slowly break my heart. I think I finally understand, why I tried to run. I fear not love but the undeniable truth of the finale. The loneliness, I might add. How will I survive?
