Chapter 2
The first few classes went by in a flash and sooner or later it was lunch. Cathryn, Kyle and I got our food and sat down.
“That new kid is super quiet,” said Cathryn.
Kyle then whispered, “He is right there and it looks like he doesn’t have any friends yet. Poor kid.”
Raine says, “Let’s introduce ourselves to him then tell him what to do.” The three of them got up and went to Thomas. “Hey Thomas. My name is Raine, her name is Cathryn, and he is Kyle. We all have the same homeroom. You seem a little lost want some help?”
Thomas then says, “Yea I recognize you from my homeroom. Nice to meet you guys; and yea I could use the help.”
Kyle says next, “Follow us.” The four of them make their way through the lunch line then down to a table. Kyle sat next to me and I front of him was Cathryn; soon I realized that this meant the hottest guy I have ever seen would sit in front of me.
Thomas sat down then said, “Thanks for everything, all of you are so nice. Do you guys wanna be friends?”
Raine almost screamed but calmed herself down and said in a formal manner, “Yes that would be great.”
“So where do you come from Thomas?,” said Kyle.
Thomas then responded, “I just moved here a week ago from Arizona. My old school wasn’t the right fit for me, I thought that living here would be better for me.”
Cathryn said, “I hope that this school does you well.”
Thomas then said happily, “Thanks.”
Soon the school bell rang and everyone lunch. Again there classes flied by and it was the end of school. Raine stepped out of school and found Thomas sitting on the bench. She went up to him and said, “Hey Thomas.”
He then said, “Hey Raine, what’s up?”
Raine said, “Nothing much. What about you?”
Thomas says, “I guess I’m fine, it is just just being the new kid.”
Raine understandingly said, “I know exactly what that’s like. Oh, also, I wanted to ask you what in particular was the reason you came here?”
Thomas in awe said, “Do you see this place? It’s full of exploration and excitement. This place is full of places to visit and it is calling my name... I hope that didn’t sound to cringy.”
Raine laughing said, “It definitely was cringy but not to bad. You are right, there is a lot of places to go here.”
Thomas responded, “Well, if you aren’t doing anything can you show me around. I am free after school today.”
Raine about to faint said, “Yes that’s an awesome plan let me just catch up with Kyle and Cathryn then we can leave.” She then walked up to Kyle and Cathryn who were leaning on the wall and said, “Hey, how was your first day?”
“It was great what about yours?,” said Cathryn.
“Good, what about you Kyle?,” said Raine.
Kyle said, “The worst, school sucks but it was cool how we met someone new. Speaking of, what were you talking to him about over there?”
Raine replied, “He said he wanted to explore a little bit so we are going to go exploring. I wanted to catch up with you two before though.”
“I hope you two have fun,” said Cathryn and Kyle.
“Thanks, said Raine. She then walked back to Thomas and told him that they were ready to go. He stood up and then followed Raine down the sidewalk which marked the beginning of their journey.
