Young Felix woke up in his favorite person's arms. He was used to staring at a frontier of blue from within the rolley thing. But there was no blue anywhere and he felt his mother was ignoring this very important detail.
At the time, there was no way Felix could've understood that there were things his parents could not deal with. There was no chance he could've understood how someone could be somewhere illegally, known how harsh the world was actually like, or come to terms with the idea of the "future." To him, there were only the sounds, colors, smells, and movements of his parents' world.
Felix wanted to close his eyes but he thought he heard his mother whimper. She and her husband had talked about this day and hoped it would never come.
They'd been found, but Mrs. Godinez escaped with her son, leaving behind her other half and everything they'd worked for. There was never going to be enough time for all the goodbyes, and she lost many lives to keep herself from turning back.
