Chapter 1

Every night, upon the moon’s light, she sees his silhouette shining bright black as he climbs the moon with the earth on his back, like Atlas. Little does she know, it’s all a show of hand shadows, to climb the moon is impossible. He loves his daughter very much. He didn’t want to let her down so he makes it all up, up with his hands in front of the set-sun which cast his shadow to the moon at once. His little girl smiles from ear to ear which makes her the most beautiful girl in the world. He reaches for the top but misses the rock and loses his footing. She gasps right before he falls, but then he just floats because of the zero gravity and all. By the set-sun, her father’s hands are busy catching the mosquito that almost made him fall, not realizing the shadow is still on the moon. Staring without a blink. Tilting his head in wonderment. He puts his hands back up and his shadow gets back on to the moon and climbs it to the top. The smile returns on his daughter long after he returns to her. Did he really climb the moon? Her mother can only wonder as she sat beside their daughter on this night to remember.
