Don’t move

Elly’s POV

”You know honey we need you to grow up. We need the powers you have hidden. There are so many enemies that you need to destroy. We can’t be happy and a family before the evil forces are destroyed” her father explained. She had heard this talk so many times. Her parents had even started to bring her suitors the day she turned sixteen. And now for a bit over year later they were still doing it even though she had turned every one of them down.

But something had changed. They didn’t know it yet. Yesterday she had been asked out on a date. And she had said yes! The boy was so handsome. With dark brown hair and midnight blue eyes, he was the most handsome person she had ever seen. Almost like a book character coming alive. She had always read so much which was probably part of the reason the suitors her parents send to her were never enough.

This guy was from her school. He was the ice hockey player. The scouts came from all over the country just to see him play. People were gossiping that he was one of the most promising players the USA has ever had. He would be drafted this summer right after their graduation.

She was the invisible type of girl in school. But somehow he had seen her this year. They had talked a few times in class or after school. Of course her body had grown into woman’s body over the summer. But never had she imagined she would attract the attention of the most handsome and popular boy at her school.

It was mid March and the hockey season was coming to an end. Finals were closing in and everyone at school were a mess. ”Elly!” shouted a now familiar voice. I walked calmly to my locker trying not to get too excited for the fact that Lucas and his friends were coming my way. ”Hi” I said when he leaned to the locker next to mine and smiled that beautiful smile of his. ”I was just coming to confirm that we are still on for tonight? And of course I wanted to see you!” I couldn’t stop smiling because he was so cute. And trying to act insecure, like I could say no to him! ”Why wouldn’t we be?” I asked and flattered my eyelashes to him. ”I don’t know. Maybe because you are not like the other girls, so I thought you might stand me up” he brushed a stray of hair behind my ear. His friends were clearly eavesdropping and laughing at Lucas. ”Well we are still on for tonight. I’ll be at the café at 7pm” I started but he interrupted me ”No you won’t, I will pick you up at 7pm.” He just smiled even more radiantly at that. ”Okay” I said with a shy smile looking to his eyes. It was one of those movie moments where the boy would kiss the girl. But I wasn’t ready for that to happen yet so I just turned and slammed my locker shut on the exact moment my best friend decided to appear.

“Elly I have so much to tell you!” Sarah exclaimed. Lucas slowly backed away still smiling. Just before turning he shot me one last glance and smile. “Okay so shoot” I told Sarah. “Okay so you know my parents are getting a divorce...” I listened and then I didn’t when Sarah was telling the newest twists of her parents twisted love life. This was just one of those things that had happened already. Sarah’s parents were complicated. Okay well that was maybe understatement. But you might get the point. They were cheating on each other all the time and the rest of the time they were so in love that there was no time for anyone else. She always had news about them every morning.

Dad’s chauffeur came to pick me up after school. I hated that my parents didn’t allow me to drive myself but only five months and I’d be adult. Then I could do whatever I wanted to. Hopefully. As you might guess my parents were strict and controlling. My mom had been a witch when she was younger. But when I was born she lost her powers for they were transferred for me. I would have never wanted them. But can’t argue with destiny. I don’t have my powers yet. And it annoys my parents so much. They want to use me to get rid off their enemies. And they have a lot of enemies. We have been forced to move a few times due that. Dad owns a company worth of millions of dollars.

The rest of the day I read a book I had just found and did my homework. When the clock chimed six o’clock I started to get ready. I curled my hair a bit and applied some makeup. I went with light and simple makeup because I didn’t want to over do it. Plus I liked myself better with a simple makeup. It was mid March yes, but cause we were in Tampa the weather was still quite warm. I was putting on my midnight blue, clingy, summer maxidress with a semi deep cleavage and a slit at the side. My mom just walked in on that moment. ”Honey where are you going?” she asked. ”Oh I’m going out an a date” I almost whispered. ”Honey that is amazing! Let me help you with that.” She zipped my dress up and helped a necklace on. ”Let me put some makeup on for you” she was starting to rummage through my makeup shelf. ”No mum I’m fine. I already did some and I want my dress and body to be the thing he’ll notice” I said quickly knowing she will take the bite. ”Ohh honey that is a wonderful idea. Here are the keys to the penthouse if you want to use it tonight” she gave me a smile that told me she was hoping I would lose my virginity tonight. I hated my parents so much when they thought only my powers.

I saw an expensive Audi drive next to our driveway and a second later a message chimed to my phone. ”I’m outside your house. At least I think it’s your house.” I took my black stiletto’s and my handbag with me and ran downstairs. ”I’m going now, might be late when I get back!” I yelled and shut the door. I started walking towards the car. Lucas stepped out of it and almost dropped his chin to the floor. ”You look amazing” he said, his eyes roaming my body. “You don’t look so bad yourself” I said when he caught my hand and kissed it opening the door for me at the same time. He was wearing dark blue jeans and a white tshirt. With black leather jacket. I could see through the shirt the lines of his body. He was so hot.

Hello everyone! This is my first book that I’m spreading for people to read. I have lot’s of drafts and I hope I can share them with you at some point. Please tell me what you think about this one. Don’t move will be the first book of a duology (maybe trilogy.) I will take any kind of feedback and haters will only make me work harder and improve myself and my writing. There might be some language mistakes, you can tell about them so I can fix them. I want you to note that English is not my first language so don’t judge too quickly. I hope you enjoy this story :)
