"Nooooooooooooooo!!" I screamed looking down at my best friend Shantel.

Running down the hallway of the hospital with her help less body. Being taken down to the emergency room.

She kept on throwing up blood , I knew she wasn't going to make it.

"Who did this to you Shantel?" I asked as she spat out blood

She tried opening her eyes but it was undoable.

"Pr......Prince" she managed to stuttered

As her eyes fully closed and her hand fell back.

"Shantel wake up !!!!" I yelled and screamed

I was traumatized. I wiped my bloody hands down my face as tears bursted through my eyes.

It was use less crying because she was already gone.

I removed my hands from my face realizing that my face was now covered in my best friends blood.

The nurses came and told me that I had to leave.

I left as hot tears continued to ran down my cheek.

"Who did this to ma lady !! " My brother lashes out at his homies

I walked in the kitchen with my eyes red and puffy. I leaned at the island with my arms crossed.

"Tell me tha' niggas name I ain't gon spare that son of a bitch" he said aggravated at everyone but looking at me.

"Prince" I told him dryly

"Who the hell is prince?" he asked

"I don't know you tell me" I said crossing my arms

He looked at me and shoulder shrugged some how I feel he's lying.

"Who so ever that is I'm down for that bid'ness" I told him

"Nah uh you crazy or sumo I ain't gon let you get involved and then you get yourself killed" he preached to me

I sucked my teeth and look dead in his eyes

"I'm in" I told him being serious.

"Shantel was my best friend , hell she a whole lot more she was my sister" I told him honestly still crossing my arms with a stank ass attitude.

"Hard headed , I need you to keep an eye on her ass" my brother proclaimed to his home boys

"Seriously Xavier?" I asked

My brother is a huge part of the pie like , drug dealing and the easy money typa' shit from he was 15 now he's 22 , he had to take care of me and my cousin jasmine since all our other households die. He killed people for a living.

1 week later

"Come on you been all up in this bitch ever since Shantel died you letting this derailed yo life b" my cousin jasmine preached in my ear for the past week.

"I'm aiite bs im just not ready to go out there yet knowing my baby girl ain't by me" I said to her honestly

"That's bull shit paigdre , she ain't coming back you need to free ya' self up , ya' feel me you drilling too much" she said

I looked at her and nodded, she's right ever since Shantel died I'm just so focus to find her killer. I haven't had time for myself.

I got up and did my daily hygiene , Jas did too.

After I finished I searched for an outfit. I found my black shiny strapless short front long back dress and I wore my black nude heels along with it.

I had my hair straightened out and I did my makeup with sleek edges.

I grabbed my clutch and went downstairs.

"Jassy!!!" I called out

"I'm comin' girr'" she yelled from upstairs

I grabbed the keys off the counter and went outside and unlocked the truck.

I went in the drivers seat turning the keys in the ignition and honking the horn.

I affiliated my phone to the Aux cord and started playing Money by Cardi B . I turned it all up in them speakers like I was having a party outside.

We pulled up at Rernick food and drink Restaurant.

She had already made a reservation as if she knew I was gon' say yes.

"Reservation for the Anderson's please" Jas said

The man showed us our table and we walked over to it.

We took a seat looking at the menu card until the waiter came by.

"Girl when you gon' get yo self a man?" Jas asked

I peeped up from my menu card and looked at her

"Do I look like I need a man too you?" I asked her crossing my arms as I put the menu card down.

"Yo ass full of lust baby I can see that mofo' in your eyes on a daily" she said causing me to chuckle

"Quirky ass I'm aiite" I said as the waiter come on over to us.

"Wonderful good evening , Welcome to Rernick Food and drinks restaurant, what would you all like to have?" She asked as she took out her notepad

"Can I have Chicken Kabeb and buttered stick corns with a pineapple, kiwi shake" I ordered

"I'll have peri peri chicken with corn bread and pink lemonade spiked with tequila please" Jas ordered

"Will that be all?" The waiter asked

We nodded in unison. She left our table.

Within minutes our food came and we collected our food and start digging in I saw someone mugging me down. In a good way.

I looked up and saw a muscular man , light skinned , arm filled with tattoos , a bald head and a neatly trimmed beard.

He smirked showing his white pearly teeth, when he saw me staring.

I stopped looking immediately.

I finished up my food and we got up.

I still saw old dude staring me down I started blushing. That man was fine as hell.

"Okay now what's up?" Jasmine asked as she unlocked the truck

"Nothing" I told her as I got in the passenger side

"So why your cheeks hella' blushing?"

She asked as she put the keys in the ignition and looked through the rearview mirror before reversing.

"I ain't blushing" I tried to lie

But she gave a who you think yo fooling acting all slick face.

I chuckled "it's just some guy at the restaurant who was staring me down and he aiite" I told her

"And he aiite" she mocked adding emphasis on aiite using air quotes as she parked outside our house.

"Shut up he ain't my type by da' way " I said as I got out.

"What you mean isn't he aiite" she mimicked as we walked up to our front door

I nodded and turned the knob.

It was unlocked so we just went right in.

I saw Xavier and his home boys. I walked in slowly before letting then noticed me.

"Ya' feeling, shit bouta' foul on that bitches ass I'm only in it one hunnit cause he killed Shantel" Xavier said

"We bout a fuck him up aiite he think it was aiite setting us up , nah bruh he walking in red and black" I heard Jd said

"Got that brother of yours snitching on us too" Xavier said to Steph

I cleared my throat and walked in

"Y'all need to fill me in on these details ya' know lemme kno' what's popping" I told them while I took a jar of ice cream out the freezer

"Nah gone' up stairs now" my brother said

He's my big brother and he's the one taking care of me. So I obeyed his command.

I sucked my teeth "imma get in brother one way or the other" I said as I made my way out

"Aye don't do nun' stupid paigdre" he shouted

"What ever Xavier" I said as I walked into my bedroom.

I went to the bathroom and freshen up then I came out.

I grabbed some shorts and a marina putting them on.

I took out my X from my clutch and unlocked it.

I started looking back at pictures of me and Shantel.

I have to get justice for her. And by doing that I have to find her killer before my brother does because I want to toucher his ass. I want to know what he had against Shantel.
