Chapter 1
Eddison
I was sitting at my desk going over the monthly expenses for Tique and Co. when a girl came into my office. No knocking, no stating her name, she just walked in. “Hello, I’m looking for Eddison Prest,” she said with a sugary voice.
“You’ve found him. Now if you don’t mind my asking, who let you in without an appointment?” I ask looking back down at my paperwork.
“That doesn’t matter, what matters is us,” she rips open her button-up shirt to reveal a pink lacy thing that leaves nothing to the imagination and I look at her with an eyebrow raised as she saunters over to me. I quickly stand up and she looks confused as I move away.
I press a button on my phone and start talking, “Heather, send in Lucas, please.” A minute later I see Luke walk down the hall, his signature smirk laying on his face.
“What’s up boss?” He asks lazily steps into my office.
“Pay this woman and get her out of my office,” I say annoyed. He starts laughing and I roll my eyes as I see him pull out his wallet. “I’m sorry to have wasted your time,” I say to the woman.
“Oh it’s fine, but if you wanna get a drink when I’m off work text me,” she says writing her number on a piece of paper. I smile and watch as Heather walks her out.
I sigh and look at Luke who is also looking at me. “For the last time Luke, I am very capable of getting my own, for lack of better words, female company.”
“Come on man, just look at a chick for once in your life. Come out for drinks with me tonight,” he states rather than asking.
“No,” I try ending the conversation, but he goes on. He talks about the fun we’ll have and I honestly couldn’t care less, Tique is finally getting big which means more work to do and less time for myself.
“So, I’ll see you at 8? If you say no I will come to your house and drag you out.” He threatens. I sigh and nod in defeat, I didn’t want to do this, but I also didn’t want to get dragged out of my home.
“Where did you say we were meeting?”
The place we met up wasn’t packed, but it wasn’t empty either, it was at that sweet spot where there weren’t too many people. I sat down next to Lucas and ordered a drink, Jack and Coke on the rocks. I started sipping until Luke began to say something.
“It’s great that you came out man, I have been dying for a wingman for weeks, ever since Peter left me for that girl,” Luke said with a scowl. Lucas detested relationships, he got hurt once and it screwed him up. If you ask me he’s a bit dramatic.
An hour later we were just casually talking about work, family, anything really, but then mid-sentence Luke just stopped talking altogether and he was just staring until he said, “I’ve got dibs on the blonde.”
I turn my head and gawk at the girl I see, black hair, long tan legs, a green dress that fits perfectly, and her face was just beautiful, let’s be honest all of her was probably beautiful.
I watch as Lucas approaches the blonde and offers to buy her a drink and it finally hits me, I know that blonde, it’s my PA, Heather. I shrug it off and continue to analyze the raven-haired girl when she starts walking over here.
“Are you going to stare all night, or buy me drink?”
Dione
We were rushing to get ready, so we could go out tonight, “Heather, have you seen my shoes?” I yell while digging through my closet.
“Check under your bed!” She hollers back at me. I walk over and check under my bed and sure as shit, there are my shoes.
“Thank you!” I shout across the hall. I throw on my little black heels and evaluate how I look. My black hair is loose around my shoulders, I’m wearing a deep green mid-thigh length dress, similar to Marilyn Monroe’s famous white dress, I have in my green colored contacts, my eyes are originally blue, but I love my green contacts, and my makeup is light but still visible.
“How do I look?” Heather asks as she walks in. Her blonde hair is up in a perfect bun, Heather’s dress is light blue and fits her small figure perfectly, she’s wearing black flats, her brown eyes look like that of a doe, and her makeup is done to perfection.
“You look fantastic sugar, you look like I pulled you straight out of a book,” I tell her. I do a little spin, “And how do I look?” I ask her.
“Perfect as always. Now, are you ready to head out? She asks while touching up her lip gloss. I smile and nod as we head out the door.
When we got to the bar, a fairly large bar, in my opinion, we met up with a few of Heather’s friends and they all started talking about their work and how things were going in their lives, pretty boring actually, but I smile and make polite conversation. As I’m talking about my degree and the fact that I’m unemployed, I get the feeling of being watched. I turn my head slightly and catch a dashing man looking my way, I smile and go back to my conversation. A few minutes later when Heather is talking about working at a place called Tique and Co, she the receptionist to the main guy in charge, so she can’t help but brag, I feel the same pair of vibrant blue eyes on me, so I decide I’m going to walk over there.
“Are you going to stare all night, or buy me drink?” I ask him.
He gave me a debonair smile and three whiskey neats later I was on his couch doing unspeakable things. I would moan his name and he would make the most amazing sounds which just urged me on. I told him what I wanted and Jesus did he deliver and by the end, I was sweaty, tired, and breathless, did I care? No.
I fell asleep on top of him and he just held me there until morning when I realized, hell I don’t even know his name.
