Scourge’s Love

Scourge’s vision went dark, he then opened his eyes to a dark gloomy forest. As he looked around he saw a dark tabby, Tigerstar! “I killed you!” Scourge shouted. Tigerstar’s eyes light up. “You did.” He mewed calmly. “And Firestar killed you, so your now in the Dark Forest.” Scourge was confused. “What’s the Dark Forest?” He hissed. “Your BloodClan’s leader correct?” Tigerstar asked.

“Was BloodClan’s leader.”

“Leaders get nine lives I can give a second life if you do something for me.”

Scourge sneered and was about to agree but a voice called for him. “Don’t do it!”

“Why?” Scourge shouted. “Come here.” The voice called. “No! Just do as I say.” Tigerstar hissed “ I just need one thing in return.” Scourge hated Tigerstar so he turned and ran towards the voice.

He stoped at a border, on the other side was star pelted cats looking at him. “Who are you?” Scourge asked. They said nothing as one cat came up to him “We will give you a second chance if you promise to do good and help the Clans after what you have done.” Scourge thought about it and finally nodded reluctantly. “Then you may go back.” they said.

As Scourge opened his eyes he felt a strong pain on his stomach. He struggled to get up and growled in pain. “Scourge?” A she-cat’s voice mewed in shock. He looked over at a dark gray she-cat holding her back crippled leg up. “That’s me.” He said weakly.

“Let me help.”

“I don’t ne...fine”

Scourge remember his promise with the star pelted cats, afraid of losing his life again. “Stay here I will go and get some herbs.” The she-cat mewed as she walked off.

She came back with many leafs and other things too. “What’s your name?” Scourge asked. “Cinderpelt. Now stay still.” “Sorry.” Scourge felt weird suddenly now knowing her name. “Why are you helping me?” Scourge asked. “It’s my job.” Cinderpelt said blankly. “But I...” Scourge’s voice trailed off. “That doesn’t matter to me.” Cinderpelt said. “Come with me.”

“Where are we going?”

“Back to camp”

Scourge’s blue eyes widened in shock “What! No! I’ll get killed!”. “I won’t let it happen. Just stay quiet and do as I say.” Cinderpelt said as she gave him a comforting smile. Scourge noded and fallowed Cinderpelt.

As they entered camp Scourge was unnoticed until someone gasped in shock. “What is he doing here?” “Is that Scourge?” “What is Cinderpelt doing with him?” They exclaimed. Firestar came out of his den to see what was going on. “Scourge! What are you doing here?” Firestar’s voice ringed in Scourge’s ears. “He was injured so I-” Cinderpelt started.“He should be dead.” Firestar hissed. He then let out a sigh knowing better than to argue with Cinderpelt. “You can heal him, but when he is fit to walk he must leave.” Cinderpelt nodded and lead Scourge into the medicine den.

“I told you something bad would happen if I came!” Scourge mewed as he layed down in the nest Cinderpelt made for him. “I never said it would go smoothly either.” She shot back at him. “Now stay here while I check on Sandstorm.” Scourge nodded and waited for Cinderpelt to return. A few moments later a small dark tabby tom entered the den his eyes widening in shock as he sees Scourge. “What are you doing here?” He mewed. Scourge ignored the tom and layed his head down. “Answer me!” He shouted. “I won’t take part in your deal Tigerstar.” Scourge mewed coldly. “I’m not Tigerstar! I’m Bramblepaw.” He hissed. Cinderpelt soon comes back into the den “I’m ba- oh hi, Bramblepaw, do you need something?” Bramblepaw nodded “I have a bellyache.”

As Bramblepaw leaves Cinderpelt turns to Scourge. “Do you need anything?” She asked. Scourge nodded. “I have a question.” He mewed shyly. Scourge sat silent for a while until finally bursting out “Do I have to go?” He wailed. Cinderpelt looked at him slightly shocked until she let out a small giggle. “Who knew the most fearful cat could wail like a kit!” She joked. Scourge smiled but it quickly faded into sadness. Cinderpelt rubbed her cheek ageist Scourge’s head. “It will okay.” She said. “You’ve been the first real friend I’ve ever had.” Scourge mewed sadly. Cinderpelt’s face suddenly brightened. “I got an idea, you can come and visit me from the edge of the border near twoleg place!” Cinderpelt whispered. Scourge nodded and stood up. “I think I’m ready to go now.”

As they reached the border Cinderpelt handed him some marigold to put on his wound. “See you soon, and thanks again.” Scourge whispered to Cinderpelt. She nodded turning to fallow the the warriors that escorted Scourge to the border. Scourge, sadly watched her disappear into the forest. He walked back into twoleg place already missing Cinderpelt. I wish I could live in the forest with Cinderpelt. He thought to himself.

As Cinderpelt waited for Scourge she felt more nervous than before. Scared he would leave her after the news she will tell him. “Hi, Cinderpelt.” Scourge said as he jumped over the fence. “Scourge....” Cinderpelt started to rethink her decision. “I-I’m expecting kits!” She blurted out. Scourge stared in shock before he started to jump with excitement. “That’s great! I could come and live in the forest with you.” He purred. “No, I told the clan I need to go on a journey on my own. Then I have the kits and come back with one kit.” Cinderpelt mewed. “What if their is more than 1 kit?” Scourge asked. “You will have to keep the rest.” She mewed sadly. Scourge finally agreed to the plan. He also took her back to BloodClan to be taken care of for a while.

“Scourge, I think we should go back to the forest to get ready for the kits.” Cinderpelt said. “Alright.” Scourge agreed. “I have a great spot in mind.” He lead Cinderpelt into a patch of soft grass where no ThunderClan patrols will find them. “Thank you, Scourge.” Cinderpelt mewed. A few days later Cinderpelt gave birth to three kits, a she-kit and two toms. “They are perfect.” Scourge said softly. “You did great.” Cinderpelt looked at the kits. “The she-kit should be called, Ravenkit. I will take her if that’s ok?” She asked Scourge. “It’s fine” he licked the kit. “Let’s name the one that looks like you, Dusk. I could take him.” Cinderpelt noticed the last kit looked weak. “What about this one?” She asked. “How about Sparrowkit?” Scourge suggested. “But who will take him?” He looked at Cinderpelt. “I will, he looks weak.” She said sternly. Scourge nodded. “But first you should rest.” He mewed. Cinderpelt nodded and soon fell asleep. Suddenly Sparrowkit died in his sleep, Scourge and Cinderpelt buried him shortly after they found him dead. Cinderpelt said good bye to her mate and kit and let Scourge do the same. She took Ravenkit and left.

Many moons later the Ravenkit is now Ravenpaw, and Dusk is learning how to defend himself from dogs and other cats.

“Ravenpaw! Ravenpaw! Ravenpaw!” Cinderpelt cheered loudly. I wish Scourge was here. I hope he’s ok. She thought as rain began to come down.

“Under here!” Scourge called for Dusk as it started to rain. “What are we going to do for dinner now?” Dusk asked his father. “We will have to go hungry if it doesn’t stop soon” Scourge mewed darkly. I miss Cinderpelt so much I hope we could see her someday. He thought to himself.
