Beginning & Prologue
The Beginning:
The supernatural world came into existence long before the human world. Planet earth is a lot larger than the humans are told in their science books, it’s about three times that big in fact. The planet was full of animals and wildlife 23 millenniums ago until one day, the core of the earth became so hot, its energy started to leak out of the ‘pores’ of the earth’s surface. Magic has always existed, ever since what the humans call ‘the big bang’ occurred roughly 4.5b years ago.
Magic is everywhere throughout the entire universe in the form of small balls of light. When the earth’s heated energy started seeping out of every gap in the planet’s crust, a larger ball of light collided with the planet, wiping out about 45% of its wildlife while simultaneously bringing magic to earth’s surface.
The moon and sun goddess then took up residence in an invisible plain in the higher layers of the atmosphere and in the following 230yrs the very first supernatural creatures started popping up around the globe. The first thing the goddesses developed were the magical plants and herbs, and next were the first werewolves, the most recent introduction being angels 15,000yrs ago. About 3,300yrs ago the first humans surfaced, and it was decided that the unused areas would be used as the new ‘human world’.
As the human race grew, the human world expanded to make space for them. A rough third of the planet was marked off as the earth that the humans would know. The goddesses gathered 74 witch covens to work together to create a magical barrier around the human world to contain it.
With a strong spell they stitched together the edges of the barrier so that the human’s world would appear seamless. It’s rare that any human finds a way through the barrier and ends up somewhere in the supernatural world. Of course, this only happened for one of three reasons, those being, they were brought through by a magical species, they stumbled upon one of the few cracks in the barrier or they have magic of some sort in their DNA.
Every werewolf pack consists of a central pack house placed in one of two places, a clearing in a wooded area, or deep in the mountains. Other than that, some packs in the last 950 years or so have chosen to reside within communities in the human world, to blend in for a different type of lifestyle and for safety reasons. The Crimson moon pack is in a wooded area in the supernatural world.
The packhouse is roughly four or five times the size of a large mansion in the human world and is surrounded by the pack grounds which consist of over twenty shacks, a couple cabins, a dungeon, a forest surrounding the central land and a handful of clearings and facilities throughout that forest.
Prologue:
2013:
“Damian, catch” Dani calls. It’s an early Sunday afternoon, and the forest is alive around them. Dani and her older brother Damian are outside getting some fresh air before lunch. Damian groans as the ball hits him in the face, rolling his eyes. Dani looks around at the other kids playing and shifts her view to the left. Bree is sitting alone on the steps of the supply shed. She runs over to him. “Hey Bree, want to play catch with me?” she asks. Bree’s face lights up at her question, making a smile break out on her face.
1 hour later…
“Whoohoo, I win, I win” Bree sings. He had caught the ball from the furthest distance. Dani giggles at his pride. The Beta, Mathew comes outside to call them all inside for lunch.
Everyone hurries in behind Dani and her brothers, as they are the Alpha and Luna’s pups. Bree shyly trots behind her to the left. Dani rolls her eyes, reaches out her hand and pulls him forward until he’s beside her. Bree is lovely, kind, and fun to be around. Dani can’t fathom why everyone else excludes him.

Good plots to describe the broken Dani! Sexual harassment, loss of the loved ones... all the pain makes my heart ache
I just read The Broken Queen and I’m genuinely impressed by how vividly you weave together supernatural world building and deep emotional stakes through Dani’s journey. The story’s blend of werewolf lore, loss, survival, and inner conflict gives it a powerful emotional core that keeps the reader engaged from start to finish. Your portrayal of Dani’s resilience as she faces tragedy, betrayal, and a harsh pack hierarchy really stands out and makes this world feel immersive and compelling. I have some ideas that could help take these dramatic themes and character development even further while honoring the strong foundation you’ve already built.
