Divided
I have my fathers mouth
But I speak my mothers tongue
I’ve been a disappointment since I was young
My mother is a dancer
But she can’t move anywhere
She looks right through me as if I wasn’t there
My father is a singer
But he doesn’t have a voice
He looks at me as if who I am is a choice
I have my fathers hands
But I have my mothers touch
I wish I didn’t comprise of a divide so much
