Canary
I can carry a Canary across the ocean
Though the Canary gives no end
To the friendship of ours
It is the people who does
And it ends coldly and suddenly
That it's a stream that crumbles
In the air right in front of my eyes
Those people I wager had no
Amount of set sympathy
For the Canary who wallows
And calls to me, lulling me
It never leaves me
Unlike the people who tally
On the sea.
