The first time happened so out of nowhere that Basin could've easily colapsed right there, over the busiest street of Dunna's Grand Market. His whole chest got trapped into the sharp, fierce claws of an unseeable entity. His body paralysed.
People coming and going, making deals, laughing, talking, while long cold shivers licked his spine from back to neck, a wave of horrible images flooding his mind as that grip tightened.
Then it stopped. As air came back to his lungs and a moment of relief drizzled his body, Basin ran for his life, turning his head only once, looking for whatever being could be the responsible.
At that time he found nothing but people’s eyes glaring at him, certainly annoyed by his sudden burst of odd behavior.
He never talked about it, never asked any questions, not even to himself. He was 8 years old.
The second time, however... he did saw something. And the more he looked at it, the clearer the Djinn became.
