In a very old town lived a girl named Haley. Haley is 16 years old, who lives with her grandparents. Her grandparents are very old and is very slow. So Haley had to take really care of herself. She has a friend named Tomi. He lives a few blocks away from her. Haley & Tomi both loved to hang out with each other. Sometimes they do it too much, people will usually think they are dating. “Hey! Haley! Aren’t you gonna hang out with me today?” Tomi said while walking towards Haley. Haley was coloring on the sidewalk with her chalks. Haley looked up at Tomi. “Not right now, Tomi. Can’t you see I’m drawing right now?” Haley said with a emotionless face. Tomi looked up at the sky and put his hand with through his shining jet-black hair. “No. I can’t really see you are busy. Right now I see is that girl who you really hate, is about to throw something at you.” Tomi said while having a smirk on his face. Haley turned around so quick she almost forgot about the drawing she was doing. But it was already to late. Haley got splashed with a bucket of water from above. Tomi burst out laughing. The girl who splashed Haley with the bucket of water started laughing too. She stuck out her tongue and then later closed the window. Haley was covered in water. Her short dark brown hair covered her whole face. Tomi stopped laughing then felt guilty for it. “Hey...I’m sorry about Sasha. She really hates you after you won first place in science class. Y’know... she worked hard on her project-.” Haley looked at Tomi in tears. Tomi face shown he deeply regret laughing at Haley. Tomi reach out his hand to help Haley get up. But Haley got up herself & ran inside her house. Tomi watch Haley run inside her house crying. He felt terrible.
Later that night in Haley's house. She was eating dinner with grandparents. “ What a good meal you cooked for us, Haley.” Haley grandma said while patting her head. “ Oh come on! It wasn’t a big of a deal grandma. Y’know how you like mash potatoes with corn.” Haley said while putting her grandma hand down gently. “Your mother would be so proud of you Haley. You grown so much and is very independable.” Haley sighed & rolled her eyes. Suddenly, Haley grandpa enter the kitchen with a gift wrapped in purple & red wrapper,with a red ribbon on top. Haley stood up taller & walked towards her grandpa slowly. “ What’s up with the gift? Grandpa.” Haley said while feeling the red ribbon on top of the gift. “A little gift for you my dear. It’s a special gift indeed.” Haley grandpa said while smiling down at Haley. Haley eyes was full of amazement. She turned her head and saw her grandma nodding her head while smiling. “Well? Haley? Aren’t you gonna open it and see what is it inside?” Haley shook her head and turned back to her grandpa. “ But why? It’s not Christmas or my birthday!” Haley grandpa handed the gift in Haley hands. “just see what’s inside dear. You won’t be disappointed, especially it’s from that magic shop!” Haley was confused & just decided to go along with it. “Oh! I just now umm... realized I had homework to do for math. I’ll take this lovely gift you got me grandpa and open it in my room! I’ll be sure to tell you how I feel about it.” Haley kissed her grandpa & grandma cheeks without them having a chance to say anything else. She ran upstairs quickly with her gift to her room. She locked her room door and made sure her grandparents wasn’t spying on her. Haley turned on her desk lamp and put the gift on top of the desk. “Now, let’s see this trash gift they got me this time.” Haley unwrapped the gift. “Weird... it’s just a book. A book without a title. It’s just a book with a plain black cover.” Haley said while observing the book. Suddenly , a note fell out the book. Haley saw & was curious on what the note could’ve have on it. Haley picked up the note that fell on her bedroom floor. It seemed like a very old note. She unfolded the note more & saw what it said on it. “This book contacts powerful & strong magic. Something this world doesn’t need yet. If you have this book right now, please burn it. You have been warned. -Johnna” Haley didn’t took the note serious. “Another prank from my joking grandpa!” Haley said will throwing the note away in her trash bin. Haley looked at the book & though of a idea. “Well.. if this book does have a powerful & strong magic. Let’s give it a test!” Haley remembered what happened earlier and was still super angry with Sasha. The girl who threw the bucket of water on her. Haley wrote : "I wish Sasha can die! And feel sorry for what she did to me!" Haley started to get angry by writing that in the book. She soon later calmed down and closed the book. Haley layed down on her bed, hearing her grandparents play nice old music in the kitchen downstairs. Haley checked her phone and saw Tomi texts. Haley latered closed her eyes & went into a deep sleep.
