Chapter 1

The drug he’s been giving me is slowly killing me.

Her trembling hands moved to the lower half of the paper as they voluntarily wrote everything she has been feeling. Everything she has been seeing. And everything she had held back. From the first day she was brought to the medical center, it seemed like her health was becoming even worse. Her eyes turned to a lighter shade of blue and lost their chocolate lively color. Her stomach refused every kind of nutrition and it immediately offered back whatever it was given. Moving became a heavy burden and so did breathing.

The life was being sucked out of her.

It is why I am isolated in this room. They say it’s because I am a very important guest, but I know that’s not the case.

She began familiarizing herself with the after world and the afterlife once she realized it. Her younger self was not much of a god person, and she had issues with spirituality and religion. She believed that there was a god somewhere in the universe, she just did not know who he was and how to connect with him.

The scheduled surgery is finally tomorrow. I’m assuming that my heart will stop as they are operating on me, or at least that is what they will say.

The holy books said that a good hart belonged in heaven. Evil hearts belonged to hell. Good hearts with evil deeds belonged to heaven after they are stripped of off their sins. Evil hearts with good deeds are dealt with in a way that would be most justice to them.

If things go their way, and I don’t end up coming out of there alive, I want you to bury me on a high hill. Somewhere near a giant tree and lots of fresh air.

She didn’t want to be buried next to them. She didn’t deserve to be associated with them.

I know it is too much to ask, but I have no one to trust but you. I want to believe you will carry out my instructions for the goodness of your heart. Think of it as a way to repair the damage you have done.

Her back was starting to ache and for a minute she stopped writing. Leaning back on the bed stand was making the pain worse and laying down on the bed wasn’t helping at all. She was exhausted from the two positions offered for her to maintain. She needed a walk along the garden with an escort.

“I’ll come back tomorrow.” He said quietly. “I’ll make sure you don’t get into that surgery.”

She blinked slowly. Her body was turned away from him, but her upper half which was supported by the soft pillow made it easy for her to gaze at him directly.

“I know your death is near. It is written all over your face, but so is mine, and you’re not going anywhere without me old lady.” He smiled brightly showing his faded white teeth.

“Besides, we do have a mission to accomplish now, don’t we?”
