Prologue

*Brittany Colton*

“Are you ok?” The so-called “Bad boy” asked holding his hand out.

“Do I look like I’m fine?!” I shrieked as I accepted his hand gratefully but only to slip from his hold.

Oof! I landed on my butt painfully. I glared at his back as he was bent down, doubling over in laughter.

“Jerk...” I muttered under my breath annoyed at him. I was only here for 5 minutes yet he’s managed to annoy the hell out of me and trap us inside the school when it’s supposed to be the holidays. I sighed with annoyance.

“So, what are we going to eat?” Jayden asked hungrily.

“I don’t know Mr Jerk,” I said through gritted teeth. “You got us trapped in school when it’s supposed to be the summer holidays. You think of a way.”

“Okay. Ah! The canteen!” His light blue eyes lit up.

I scoffed. “Any genius could have figured that out a century ago dummy!”

“I am not a dummy miss grumpy pants!” He exclaimed.

“I am not grumpy!”

“Are too!”

“Are not!”

’Ar-” *Gruuuuuuumble* “Oops there goes my stomach.” He said sheepishly, his cheeks turning a rosy red colour.

“Awwww, is the bad boy blushing from embarrassment?” I teased chuckling at his expression.

“Shut up.” He muttered.

“See ya!” I dashed off in the direction of the canteen cheekily.

“OI! Wait for me!” He wailed from behind me.

“NO!” I yelled giggling as I looked back at his expression. He roared in fury and started chasing me. I squealed and ran as quickly as I could. Soon we were playing tag like the mature teenagers that we were.

And with that, I knew that this summer would be a hectic one, the most sarcastic summer I’ll ever have. I just hope I’ll be able to survive, being “Trapped with the bad boy...”
