Chapter 1

O’Malley the Orc was on the run. He has been on the run for several weeks now. Dodging in and out of towns, trying to find food or water. As he hid a small, wet cave, he could remember the events that led up to him being hear. He could remember the shouts and cries and the panicked Orcs began to flee, the crumbling Sauron, and the lava. He remembered how he ran for miles. Now, sitting in the little cave, he heard voices outside.

“Aw ya” a rough voice was saying,“the bloody Orcs were panicky like. I swooped in with me axe and chopped them to pieces!”

“Serves them right, coming ’ear and taking our stuff!” said another voice, more female-like but still rough.

O’Malley scuttled as quietly as he dared to the back of the cave. Every breath he took was as silent as he dared. Two small silhouettes came into view. Both had beards, one ginger, and the other light brown. They walked past him without a second glance. He waited, not moving, for another minute until he was sure they were gone.

"Gazats (Dwarves)!" whispered O'Malley savagely as he spat on the ground.

O'Malley crept out of the cave and trudged up a nearby hill. The grass felt prickly and moist through his worn out sandals. When he made it to the top, he crouched down. Standing 5 meters away was a heavily built, bald, black bearded Dwarf that was carrying a double sided axe. O'Malley had to wait 3 minutes until the Dwarf was called by his wife to come down. O'Malley pulled out his sharp dagger just in case.

An hour later, he found a suitable cave that wasn't too damp and crawled inside of it. Along the sides of the cave walls there were insects crawling about. O'Malley picked one up and gobbled it up. it had been a day since he had had food. He reached for more and more until there were none left.

Suddenly from outside, he heard the sound of a twig snapping. he crawled out and slashed out at whatever was there. A bird, dripping in blood, had been stabbed by the dagger.

"Mas (Mine)!" cried the Orc.

O'Malley didn't waste time taking off the feathers. He just ate it whole. After that, he went back into the cave and went to sleep (after an hour or two of trying)
