Intro
"Grandma?"0
"Yes, my dear Aesha?"
"Tell me about the Goddess again...please!"
The little wolf gave her best pup pout and widened her already doe-like eyes. Though it wasn't necessary - Grandma Jes obligated with a chuckle as she settled into her floral arm chair.
"Come child."
She patted her lap and little Aesha bounded over and up onto her cozy perch. Her blonde, curly hair bouncing with every movement.
"Our goddess is Luna. When her light is full, we sing for the gift of our wolves. For the love of our goddess is precious."
Young Aesha took in every word as it settled in her heart.
"She watches over us all but not without help from her sisters."
At this the girl perked up and tilted her head. She had yet to hear of other goddesses.
Jes's crows feet revealed themselves as she smiled knowingly at the child.
"When the world was born the sisters each took on a role. Our Luna was given the sea and reveals herself in the moon. Terra was given the Earth and reveals herself in the mountains. Desti is what we call fate or karma she can be found in the stars. Lastly, the twins. Vita was given life while Odia was given death. The twins reside in every living thing and their balance is important to all things."
Little Aesha frowned slightly as she considered her grandmother's words.
"Grandma...is...is Odia a bad goddess?"
She carressed the girls cheek and sighed.
"No sweet girl. Odia is not bad. Just as we are all given life we are also given death. She does not decide how or when you die but rather guides every living creature through their departure of this world."
Silently the girl nods in understanding. Her curls following the movement. Pursing her lips another question enters her young mind.
"Why do we only praise Luna and not her sisters?"
The old woman smiled. The purity of Aesha never ceased to amaze her.
"Luna is veiwed as the mother of werewolves so many only seek her approval and favor."
"It doesn't seem right to leave her sisters out grandma..."
"No my love, it doesn't. When you receive your wolf little Aesha, if your heart desires, you may sing to any goddess you like."
The girls face broke into a sweet smile, her freckles dancing across her nose while her dimples revealed themselves.
"I will grandma. Even for Odia, she must be sad no one sings for her."
The girl didn't take notice but Grandma Jes's eyes darkened. She shifted her expression quickly. The girl was not him. She bore no ill will and held no darkness in her heart, only compassion and love. Shaking the bed memories out of her mind she took the child in her arms and carried her to bed as the light of their goddess flooded in through the blinds.
Freshly tucked in and nestled in her bed Aesha said her goodnites to her grandma and before drifting into a peaceful sleep thanked the goddesses for all that they do.
