Prologue
It wasn’t supposed to be like this.
Bodies littered the floor with every whistle of a bullet. Crimson leaked over the linoleum, dancing with the glares from the lights above.
Or was it sparks from the firearms? I couldn’t tell you.
And what was this all for? Money? Power? Weaponry?
Revenge?
How that word sounded sweet, dripping from my lips like honey.
Yes, revenge. What my soul yearned for.
And yet... Fate has a weird way of twisting the path of every life we encounter; turning revenge into your own demise.
Which is why I’m telling you this now, while my vision grows dimmer... And dimmer...
And I’m tossed like a rag doll over the shoulder of a betrayer, my world grew dark.
And so did my hope in surviving.
