Meet Izabella Toris
“Izzy! Come here!” I looked up from my homework and saw my 2nd cousin, Natalie, rushing toward me and hugging me over the desk. “Suprise! I came for your sister’s baby shower! I’m so excited to see the little baby!” She squealed and let go of me. “When is it due?”
I bit my lip. I was not expecting my annoying second cousin to be here, let alone so early. The baby was due in four weeks, but the doctors had said the baby would be sooner. It was hard to think I was just about to be an aunt. Especially to Maizie, my 20-year-old sister’s baby. I was excited, but terrified of the fact of having a reason to stay home and work. But that was just selfish, so I guess I was excited about this baby. “Due in 4 weeks, but the baby shower is in two days. I need to go get ready. Maizie is out at her pregnancy class with Max, but she’ll be back soon.” Max was Maizie’s boyfriend. He was quite annoying at times and made bad jokes, so he was already an A+ dad. They were going to be engaged as soon as they could afford a ring, but that might be a while unless someone got them a fairly good amount of money at the baby shower.
“Oh? When is her next class, I need to be there! Oh, and please, please take me gift shopping! I bet Maizie’s little girl will love pink dearly, just like me!” She giggled and I made a face, but she didn’t notice. She just kept talking. “I can’t wait to have a child! Omigod, my mom is so excited to be a great aunt!!! Is your mother excited to be a grandma? Omigod, she is so old! We got to get her a walker or cane or something!” She laughed hysterically and I gritted my teeth together.
“I’m sure my mom or sisters would love to go shopping with you, but I’m crazy busy.“I tried my best to smile, but I couldn’t do anything close. Not even straight face.
“Don’t worry, Izzy, I’ll help you! I was in 10th grade, I should know this!!! What are you learning?” She glanced at my paper. “Geology? Cute. My baby-boo boyfriend loooooves geology. He does use it as an excuse not to get me pregnant.” She winked.” I’ve been wanting to have a baby in the house for forever.”
I groaned. She was the baby in the house.
“Iz, I think we should go shopping. The baby shower is tomorrow and I need to get cute lil’ onesies for her.” Natalie smiled, twirling her blonde hair around her finger.“Annnnd maybe get you on Bumble. Thats how I met my baby-boo.”
Her baby-boo was probably fake, she wouldn’t tell anyone his name or anything.
“Riiiiight. Lets go...shopping.”
