RUNAWAY

A SIGH ESCAPED my mouth. It was almost lunch. School had been dreadful, as expected. I went to an all-girls-school, and didn't particularly stand out. I had dark brown eyes, almost matching the black of my iris.

My hair was close to black, but not quite black yet. If you looked closely enough, it was still brown. I am 5"6. I'm way too light, but meh. My looks were quite average, but I was okay with that.

With my family, well, there was never a boring time with them. I had a sister, Sabine. She was 5 years older than me and is abroad. If you're wondering, I started school at 2, and she at 3. I'm college. Then, I had three cousins on my mother's side. Hannah Cruz, the second youngest— me, being the youngest. Hannah is college, and is two years older. I was closest to her, and normally hang around her batch. Then, there was Hannah's sister, Kaiah. Kaiah was a year older than my sister, and was abroad with her.

Kaiah is the eldest, being 6 years older than me. Finally, we have my cousin, Sofia "Sofie" Savier. She was in the middle, being college. She's a year older than Hannah.

It was almost exams, a relief, though that meant studying. But, exams meant end-of-the-year or semester. In this case, its the second semester exams. There were only three semesters.. so that means we still have one more semester.. aww.

*Ring.. Ring... Ring....*

The bell! My savior. I ran to the canteen, completely forgetting about that one more semester thing. I then sat at my usual table. My group of friends came over, and they are rather popular.. not saying I'm popular though!

First, there's Kyrie Ana, the pappy girl and cheerleading varsity. Then, there's Alexia Camtia, the Karatedo and Taekwando varsity. Then, there's Katrina Jules, the "bully" (though shes really kind to us and has stopped but is still being accused of doing so), and Track varsity.

I might have also forgotten to mention I'm gymnastics ambassador varsity. If you're wondering what the ambassador part is about, its that our coaches don't make the dances and routines, but we do. But, there is a normal varsity.

They all sat down. "Heeyyyyy." Kyrie drags out. "Hi." "Hey." "Hai." We all differently greet. Our group was weird, as we always assumed Katrina liked Kyrie.

I take out my cash and stand up. "I'm gonna go buy some food." I say. "Wait up! I'mma go too." Kyrie exclaims. Out of all three, I've known Kyrie the longest. I met Katrina at grade 5, and I met Alexia at grade 3. But, I met Kyrie at grade 2. So.. yeah.

Kyrie and I walk over to some random stall to buy lunch. "Sooo.." "What are we gonna do to prank K?" Ky asks. "Uhm.. idk." I reply. "I don't wanna do anything too mean though.." Honestly, Ky could've chosen anyone or even Alexia to do it with, yet she chose me. "Choco donut please." I tell the cashier. In all honesty, I'm a very picky eater. She later on takes my cash and gives me the change.

Kyrie continues to ramble on about Katrina. I sigh. We've been doing this for about four months now? I'll admit, it was fun at first, but now I've started to see its quite mean now, and I don't get quite the thrill anymore.

"Ky lets stop talking about that for now, we're going back now." "Yada yada yada."

Sooner or later, our break finishes up, with us just laughing our asses off. We head back to class. Were all classmates, so, yeah.

Our class is special, because it was an MSEP (Math and Science Enrichment Program) class and because automatically when you're MSEP, you're EdTech (I forgot the acronym). However, MSEP starts at grade 4, and EdTech starts at grade 6. EdTech is basically an iPad class.

I'm SD, the most advanced class possible, for science. Ky is DD, the advanced class, for both math and science. Alexia is DD for math, and Katrina is PO or NDD both. PO is pull-out, a non-msep class. Thus, NDD is non-DD.

If you're wondering on how it works, its quite complicated. We have to exchange classrooms. DD and PO go to the assigned classroom.

For example, DD classroom is room 4. PO classroom is room 5. So, if you are DD in science and your room is room 5, then you'll have to go to the other classroom.

For SD, we have to head to a whole different room. Meh. Well, enough explaining. Math and science is right after break, so yeah. I leave the room to go to PO math, and take my respective seat with Katrina.

Nothing seemed wrong.

I HEAD TO science SD.

I WAS RUNNING A BIT late to get back to class, and when I was finally there, they were praying. So I silently stood by the door, praying as well. Alexia and Kyrie, both started snickering when I went in.

I thought it was just because I was late. The prayer soon finishes and the trio, Katrina, Ky, and Alexia take their seats beside each other in the front, whilst I sit in the back.

IT WAS LUNCH break. Instead of going to the canteen, the two rush to me, leaving Katrina back at her seat.

"kAtRinA hAs a cRuSh oN yOuuUuuUuu!" Kyrie whisper-yells. "nO waY!" I whisper-yell back to Ky. "yEs wAy!" Ky screams. "She told us!!!" Exclaimed Alexia. "I don't believe anything." "wELL yOu bEttEr!"

Katrina finally saunters on. "Hi." "Hi." "..." "..eEK!" I roll my eyes at Xyrie. Gosh.

What a life I live. But.. I'm not complaining.
