Far Superior Than The Game.
"So much time has passed! Looking back, I remember stumbling upon this fanfic when I was in my early 20's. I had beaten both Mass Effect 1 and 2, and thought I would see how fares the novelization of the series thus far. After going through a number of fics by different authors, I found a story titled, "Fight For The Lost", and I was immediately plunged into an immersive piece of work that I could not stop reading. LuxDragon, I personally wish to thank you for giving us this beautiful rendition of Mass 2. I felt a myriad of emotions while reading your story. I felt the excitement from all the detailed, action packed battle scenes, the love from Shepard's and Miranda's romance, and the humor from the extended song sung by Mordin. Countless other scenes could be described, the fist fight with Harbinger was amazingly pulse pumping, the entire Overlord mission was a fly-by-the seat-of-your-pants, action-fueled jet ride. I could go on and on, but you get my point. This story was there for me when I needed to feel something special. It became my weekly routine to read as many chapters as I could. I'd ensure that I put enough time aside so that I could go through each chapter with the most immersion possible. And finally, after a few months, I finished it. It was perfect, the main story was consistent with the game, and I loved the liberties you decided to take to make it your own. It truly is a better story than the game, in my humble opinion. Much has happened since those days. I'm nearly 30, and I still get nostalgic when I think about going back and reading your story. We all get busy, and life can make us unable to accomplish certain things. I've held off going through this fic again because of the yet-to-be completed Mass Effect 3 story you have going. I hope you eventually find time to finish it. But despite that, I have decided to do my second, full reading of Fight For The Lost. I'm about 10 chapters in and loving it. Lux, you have truly done a wonder. I wanted this review to be genuine, and I hope you know that I appreciate this beautiful story that you've written. Enjoy writing the journey, because I'll keep reading it."
Amazing novelization of Mass Effect
"This is the best novelization of any sort of existing story I have ever read. To me the best achievement of this fiction is the way it manages to bring to life the different characters. Each one of them is given the space it deserves and the time it needs to develop. As a plus, the banter between these characters is superb. The attention given to the details is incredible. Nothing feels left out. Even the smaller "side quests" feel like important steps for the progression of the story. Another positive aspect, is that it is not simply a retelling of Mass Effect 2: a lot of new dialogues and situations -as well as deviations from the original material- are present. These "extras" are the one really worth reading in my opinion. They add so much depth and maturity to the story without departing from the general atmosphere of the games. For Mass Effect's fans this is a must read, and for those who are not yet familiar with the saga, do not be discouraged, you will find yourself wanting to know everything about this world in no time!"
