Lost

This story was started when I was 13 so it may be cringy at first, I'll go back and try to fix it later

I hear her screams and felt her fear all at once. I ran into her room and saw her thrashing around on her bed as she screamed loud enough to wake the entire house.

It was normal for Mia to have night terrors and only Blue, the youngest of the house, came to see what was wrong, she helped me hold Mia down so she couldn't hurt herself or either of us. Blue didn't speak through the entire time if took us to tie Mia's arms with the old shirts around us, Blue never talks to anyone but Mia.

After a while Mia stoped thrashing around so much and her screams turned into soft wimpers and she opened her eyes still half asleep, "Axel they were in the woods," she mumbles when she sees me, "they had guns. You won't let them get us again will you, Axel?" She looks up at me pleedingly, I've seen this expression on her countless times but it is impossible to not feel like I should promise her the world and more when she looks at me like that.

I sigh and pull her head into my lap, "Of course I won't let anything happen to us, Mia."

Blue crawls over and hold one of Mia's hands in both if her tiny ones. She leans forward and whispers something in Mia's ear that seems to wake Mia the rest of the way. She yawns and sits up saying, "Sorry I woke y'all up." She looks at Blue and nods apparently answering whatever Blue had said or asked before. "Let's go get the others and then how about we make breakfast? I'm craving.. pancakes." Blue smiles at that unties Mia then skips, hand in hand with Mia, out of the room leaving me alone.

I sigh and look out past the swaying makeshift door, just an old sheet with ducktape holding it up, and see an old picture with all of us in it, Jake, me, Scarlet, Mia, Iggy, Ben, Rose, Lyla, Nina, Drew, and Blue. Jake had rescued us from a lab when Blue was only a few months old, he raised us all and tought us how to accept and train our "abilities".

Our abilities range from animal parts to mind controll. Me with monkey traits including great balance, hands as feet, and a tail. Scarlet can control any liquid including blood making her able to move people as she wishes, though she is only aloud to do so when absolutely needed. Mia had traits of a bird including hollow bones and wings, Iggy can see as clear as day in the dark but as it gets brighter he gets blinder, Ben can coppie any sound he wants and "throw" his voice to different parts of the room. Rose can controll any plant you can think of. Lyla can blend into her surroundings better then any camouflaging animal could dream, so we'll you can't even pick up on heat signs. Nina can move any object she can see with her mind alone. Drew can elements, water and fire are his main though. And last but certainly not least is Blue, her abilities are focused on emotions, she can go as far as flying in plain air when she is calm, to throwing a bolder eight times her weight when she is mad, she can also control other's emotion at will.

Our abilities were all experiments enforced on us when we were fetuses and infints until Jake took us away. All in all we are more or less the real life version of the Maximum Ride series.

I walked out of the room glancing at the photo once more then going down the hall to welcome yet another day full of the unknown.
