"This is a new twist on werewolves and mates. However, the Price isn't an alpha asshole. And Violet, his mate, is a powerful and gentle badass. They were delightful to read. A lot of tropes are avoided in this novel which makes it an easy read and unexpectedly interesting. There isn't a ton of world building but a t/W - rape is entirely legal and the legal system is weird doesn't make a ton of sense. The book leaves on a cliff hanger but there's a sequel. This book sets up the foundation for the mateship but there isn't any romance in it as it centers around a competition. There are also spelling and grammatical errors but they bothered me less than the ratchet ass legal system. Genuinely, the punishment Violet faces is bizarre and the alleged crime is really silly. "

"Loved the story and strong characters. The plot followed through well in the ordering and telling of the story. Some sentence structures were poorly structured making them more difficult to read. Some sentences repeated words. There were also quite a few spelling errors, for example bunch of flowers is bouquet."
