Chapter 1 - Game Face

Harper Percy knew what she wanted. If she wanted it, she would take it. She was smart, funny, pretty, and a go-getter. The only thing she lacked was confidence. It wasn’t that she had no confidence, it was just that she could second guess herself. but what she lacked I’m confidence, she made up for in sheer willpower. -- But none of that could have prepared herself for the hurricane that was the Mirrors Twins

Harper stepped towards the receptionist at the front desk. He looked nice and like he was happy to be here. Happy to have his job, which was comforting.

“Hello. My name is Harper Percy. I am here for the interview for being Mr. Mirrors’ assistant,” she said feeling a mixture of excitement and nerves.

Harper was wearing a crepe pink Blazer with matching pants that fitted her thin frame. Underneath, she was wearing an ivory white button up shirt that was tucked into her pants. She also wore black strappy block heels. And top it off, she wore a light pink eye shadow and had loose curls in her chesnut locks. She was a mix of sexy and professional.

The receptionist’s name plate read Kyle de Martín. Kyle stepped out of the side of his and walked to the elevator that was about 5ft to the right of his desk. The elevator’s interior was a deep red wine color with a mini-chandaleir overtop to combat the darkness the color might try to cast. There was even a velvet bench in the back, though it must have only been for show since it didn’t look like anyone used it. It had a breathtakingly imtate feel to it.

Kyle must have seen her shocked expression because he said, “If all goes well, you’ll get used to it.”

Kyle was so nice that it lightened up her whole mood. After the first encounter she’d had earlier, this was much needed for Harper to put her game face on. Before Harper could reply, they had already arrived at the top floor and Kyle had started talking again.

“Mr. Mirrors’ office is the farthest door on the 13th floor. Just one too if you do get the job,” Kyle said stopping right in front of Me. Mirrors’ office door and turning to face Harper. ” Mr. Mirrors loves prudency. I’ve seen many assistants get fired for being only 2 minutes late. Being on time is late for him. If he tells you a time to come in, be atleast 10 mins early. He won’t tell you that because he sees it as a test. I only know because I overheard him talking to his sister about it.”

" Thank you, Kyle. That’s really kind of you,” Harper thanked, greatful for the tip.

“No problem. You just seem like you’ll be a really great asset to Mr. Mirrors,” Kyle said with a smile before turning to the door. ” Mr. Mirrors? I have Miss. Percy here ready for her interview for the position of being your personal assistant.”

A muffled ‘come in’ could be heard from inside.

Kyle opened the door for her and then left after giving her an encouraging smile.

Harper walked through the door to see the last person she thought she’d meet standing on the other side of the door. A sense of dread uncontrollably swelled inside her.
