Rose wakes up to the sound of her alarm clock. She covers her eyes with her hands and telepathically throws her alarm clock towards the wall, breaking it. She sits up to stretch and yawn. She had been dreading this day since the day she was born. Kindergarten.

She wears a pink overall skirt, a pink mood croptop that says "angry" on it as that is her mood, and Black lifetime pointed ballet flats her father gifted her before he passed for this day. She steps out of her room.

"I was wondering when you were going to awake." Her mother says, cooking something on her pan. It smelled delicious.

"Good morning, mother." Rose says as she walks down her wooden stairs. "Was kindergarten fun for you?" Her shirt changes to, "gloomy."

"In my day, we started kindergarten when we were 14, not 16 like you, but it was all right. That's where I met your father, too." She says, putting the breakfast on a plate. "I'm sure you'll make plenty of friends like I did."

"I hope so..." Rose sits down on her chair. "What was your favorite part?"

"Oh it would have to be the bus ride." She continued. "It was so eventful, even though no one knew each other."

"Oh okay."

"Here's a tip: sit by someone even though there are extra seats." She advised. "That's how your father and I met."

"Okay. Who do you think I should sit by?"

"A new kid. Someone who had just moved here. Someone you think you can spend the rest of your life with, either as friends or as lovers."

"Oh, okay." She agreed. "I'll go for the lover so I'll know them quicker."

"Good call. Now eat." Her mother points at her plate.

After she ate her breakfast, her mother hugged her and wished her luck. She stands right in front of her house. She covered her eyes, then grabbed her back pack. Five minutes later, a yellow bus that wrote Weekly Elementary/High" on the side of it had showed up. Rose steps in.

"Good morning." She told the bus driver. Her shirt wrote "hopeful" on it.

"Mornin' " he answered.

When Rose looked behind the bus driver to see how many seats were available, she saw many kids in the front sitting alone.

"If you're a kindergartener, you sit in the front." The bus driver informed.

"Th-thank you." She decided she was gonna sit with someone she had not seen around her town, like her mother advised.
