When I taste tequila, baby I still see ya,
“Anne! Anne where are you?” I call, nervously.
Cutting up the floor in a sorority t-shirt...
I find my girl cutting up a piece of flooring, wearing her favorite shirt. It’s from her college sorority.
Sky high Colorado, her lips pressed against the bottle...
She takes a swig of her Diet Coca Cola and gets up, hugging me tightly.“Welcome to sky high Colorado, Ben!”
I smile and drop my suitcase.
“It’s nice.”
“I’m glad you like it!” She nods her head enthusiastically.
Swearing on a bible, baby I’d never leave ya...
Later on, we sit snuggling on her couch. She pulls out a bible and puts her hand over it.
“Never to leave each other?” She asks.
“Never to leave each other.” I cover her hand and mouth with mine.
I remember how bad I need ya, when I taste tequila...
“Another!” I announce at the bar. “How ‘bout a tequila this time, sir?”
“Fine, fine, tequila it is.” I wave the bartender off. He begins making my drink.
He hands it to me. I take a small sip and I’m instantly reminded of Anne. Her soft smiles and even softer lips.
God I miss her.
