"i honestly did not think after having read Tear In My Heart, that i would come across another book that could or would be able to bring all of my emotions to the height that book did let alone even higher any time soon, if ever. i was totally in error. Break In My Heart is so incredibly powerful and so incredibly beautiful in ways that reached down into the very core of my being. Addison and Tyler, the two main characters, are so very believably real and sympathetic protagonists. the author's writing skills are so great that i felt i was living everything they were going through, from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows, right along with them. step by every step of the various strains and battles that had to be endured by each of them (both together and separately) as they struggled to build a relationship was fleshed out in words that were both prose and poetry at the same time. in a pace that unfolds smoothly and seamlessly throughout, we are taken on trip which lets us see that even in this day and age fear, hatred and bigotry still run rampant with some people towards anything/anyone that is different from the "norm", example of which include a so-called "mother" who shuts her son up in a conversion camp to turn him straight and an high school football team filled with homophobic slurs and racial hatred. to counteract that, we also have loyal friends to give support and loving families. i shed many tear while reading this book both in part because of the story itself and the many memories of things i've gone through both past and present. to put it succinctly, this is a book i not only recommend; it is also one i know i will re-read over and over again."

"Love the storyline and the support the people give to each other. Addi’s growth from child to adult gets triggered by falling for Tyler at a time when his childhood sweetheart can no longer give him what he needs. Watching Addi’s and Tyler’s developing love while experiencing and overcoming trauma and trials is inspiring and truly beautiful! This is balm for anyone who has ever been bullied, beaten, discriminated against or hurt for being different. The message that its ok to let someone into your heart after others have hurt you is so true.. I live the message that its ok if you still feel some pain, still react to some triggers, still have trust issues takes the pressure off of trying to be "alright" years after the experiences. Reading it from someone else sure warms my heart. Thanks!"
