Summary

NOTE: this book was written by me on Wattpad but I've since decided to finish it here since given the topics in this book I don't want it to be deleted without any notice. She was looking out the window, her eyes gleamed a bright orange. A guard came into a room, it was her protector. He was gone for weeks, and she knew why. He had an expression that spoke for itself. He tried to tell her what had happened, but she refused to listen. She carried on staring out the window, completely motionless, with a look that was as blank as her soul. She knew this day would come. She thought she was going to break down, but when the time came, she was completely numb. He finished speaking and kneeled. And she finally spoke. "My family are dead aren't they." she glared at him with those grey eyes. He looked at her. The young, beautiful, energetic princess he once served an protected, was now gone. Not only did he fail to protect her family. But he failed to protect her.

Prologue

It had been 5 years since the king had gone mad. Was it madness, however? He wasn’t, killing people for fun, burning cities for pleasure, or have random bouts of anger. But rather, a sort of, calm - chaos. Weeks after that horrible accident in his sleep, he would walk up and down corridors, cursing random objects and abandoning his duties. Then when I was destined to be married and sent away, his madness soon turned to an eerie calmness. He sat on that damn chair for hours on end, constantly mumbling and laughing. He had no regard for his children, his son/ prince regent was only 9 years of age, a sickly boy who had no guidance, the kingdom soon followed pursuit. Rape, murder, robbery, we’re all common ground after the king’s demise and even high lords began to fear the worst for their own families. Out of fear they all huddled together and plotted for the king to be replaced. His younger brother, Prince Murrik of Sunland, and my uncle was the centrepiece of this plot. But when he found out, loyalty told him what was just. He told the king, and 17 lords who were involved were killed. The others hid away in foreign lands and were living separate lives, in constant fear of being caught. I too live in my own special sort of exile. Behind stone walls and limits to my freedom. I hope that when the day comes, and I’m sent away to a new country to be married. I hope that will be the day, I will be set free.

thousands of years ago, when the first Marjan’s crossed the sea and landed on a new continent just like they did thousands of years before that. They decided that they would be the new leaders of the land. However, this land was already inhabited by the Savage tribes, once descended from the Malovcans. They weren’t keen on the new invaders but they had no choice. Whilst the Marjan’s had Steel armour and blades. The savages fought with steel machetes and hooks. The Marjans knew how to co-operate and plan multiple steps ahead, whereas the savages went into battles completely blind. They were forced into giving up and had to follow the more civilized lives of their counter-parts. After 200 years of co-existing, the savages then led a rebellion but were easily crushed at The Battle of the Freed. They were exiled onto small islands that surrounded the continent. After thousands of years of unfair treatment, All it took was for the leader, Dormax, to raise an army and bring back their former glory. This was soon cut short when both he and his son died in a shipwreck that too destroyed half of his fleet. They were held back and all hope was lost until his third eldest son, Koravix, returned the hopes of the people. He snuck to territories and islands all around the world and after convincing the Reeveelands to donate their ships to them, Koravix finally had his opportunity, and he wasn’t going to let the rough seas ruin it.

Obsidian: He's hilarious. Like, actually. I loved it. You're writing style is great, although you could do with a few less murmurs and mutters. I know it sounds critical, but I have the same problem and I hate it. Overall, it was one of the best stories I've read on here so far. I liked it better than those M...
