Chapter 1
Ji Eun
“ Come on Juliana, we’re gonna be late for our last audition in the States,” my best friend said from inside the driver seat window. I grabbed my dancing clothes and all my stuff. Juliana Lee is my name and my best friend of all time is Sandra Park. We met each other at a dance studio when we were in 6th grade. Our dream was to become a Kpop star or a Korean actress, we recently auditioned for HSC entertainment and we made it past the first round.
I got into our Jeep and Sandra started the engine. “ Good luck girls !” My mom shouted as we drove off. Sandra smiled and started to play the top 100 best songs on Spotify. To get into a Korean entertainment company, you have to look good and sing well. Sandra has straight long black hair, brown eyes, and tan skin. She loves to swim and looks like some model from a teen magazine.
Meanwhile, I have shoulder-length curly black hair, dark brown eyes, and pale skin. Sandra says that I’m very slim and I have a very pretty face. Although I don’t notice it, all my friends and parents say that. It took about 4 hours to get to Brooklyn from Maryland, we had to stop at multiple places and after the long drive we finally arrived at our hotel. The last song that was playing on the playlist was "In My Blood" by Shawn Mendes. We screamed the chorus part until our throats hurt. “ We better save our voices for the audition,” I whispered to Sandra and she started to laugh.
“ Wow, look at this view,” Sandra exclaimed. The glistening lights of the city sparkled through our hotel window. I turned around and said to Sandra, “ We chose the right room.” She nods and falls onto the bed. “ Tomorrow is gonna be a big day,” she said. “I hope we make it,” I said.
We climbed onto the bed and went to sleep. In just a few hours, we are auditioning for the Top Entertainment company in Korea.
