"Ryan we have to get to class!" Kate shoots a look across the hall at Greg. Ryan was still heartbroken over him. Even though most girls swoon over Ryan because of his muscles, gorgeous auburn hair, and dark brown eyes. To most, his only flaw is that he blames himself for everything. Kate flashes her fangs when Greg looks their way. In her eyes, he's just the bitch that broke her best friend's heart because he wasn't very " bad ass ", according to Greg at least.

"Yeah I guess you're right, Kate." Ryan sighed taking a notebook out of his locker. Kate has been by his side ever since kindergarten. Even though she threatened Greg with her fangs, he knows that she truthfully hates feeding off of people. The bell rings for first period, and they walked to class in a silence.

"Hey Ryan, you think you have a spell to make Greg disappear? He's really getting on my nerves." Vickie, a daughter of Athena that whom Ryan has known since the sixth grade, whispers trying to make Ryan smile. She fails to do so. The bell rings and smoke, the same smoke that Ryan kept dreaming about, flooded the room.

Three witches appeared in the front of the classroom. The blacked out windows shattered. Kate screamed. Ryan pulled out a bottle from his bag and threw it on the floor in front of her, and in a puff of green smoke she and the other vampires in the room were gone, safe from the sunlight. Ryan had to get everyone out, he had to figure out how to stop this.
