"We don't meet people by an accident they are meant to cross our paths for a reason. " Adrian Black closed his phone immediately after reading this quote
" For a reason?!" questioned himself
" This quote is kinda exaggerating. " he said.
A feminine voice intruppted his thoughts requesting to open the door
"come on in, April. " he replied.
On the other hand the sound of a phone was the most recognized in the crowed
"Hey! Emm" she answered
" where are you Lea? You haven't text me or call me these past few days" Lea rolled her eyes responding to an expected call of her bestfriend.
" of course at work Em...and luckily I am having a break"
"Great then... There are big news!" she noted
"what's it this time?! Or let me expect you have fallen in love with a total stranger again?!"
" what?! No totally not...... But there is a thing for you?!" she said excited as ever
" me!" Lea wondered
" The last week I stole your CV and applied for a job online and " Emily got intruppted by Lea's words
" and what makes it different this time?!"
" what makes it different is that these is not a normal company. It is Black's enterprises"
"and..." Lea sighed
"okay you seem not into it but a quick reminder is that the good news haven't been told yet so, I think your break is over now... You would better go" Emily said
" What!! .... Em wait please!!" Lea begged her not to end the call
"what are the good news!??" she asked
" you are one of the only twenty that are elected to attend the interview " Emily answered
" You must be kidding me! "
" Nope" Emily said confidently
"Em....I am glad" Lea said
" I know.. I know" said proudly
" I am glad because I have you in my life" Lea add
" I know right!!" she chuckled on hearing that
" Anyway, see you at 5" she declared
"see ya" Lea casually agreed.
Adrian 's pov
I saw my stepsister coming in pulling my best friend behind her
" listen... You are not going" she declared
"no... I am going" I denied
And then she glared at Mac
"oh gosh.... What do want me to do April? " before he even complete the sentence April intruppted him saying
"convince him"
"You know him very well.... Do you think if I asked him not to go he will even listen?!!"
" ugh.. So why are you here?!" she asked raising her tone at the end
" April... He is my father"
"no... He is not"
" he wasn't here to raise you... He didn't even called you for 20 years"
" Adrian... For my father's sake the one who did raise you and had given you the CEO position after his retirement. The one who did love you"
"April... He should go" Mac add
She gave him the I would kill you if you didn't shut it up look
And then returned back to me with the puppy eyes
" please" she begged
I turned giving her my back
" I can't"
"why... Tell me" she begged for it
" I need my revenge back" I replied
"what!?"
I turned to see the shock spread over her face
" April.. Can you please leave?" Mac said trying to reduce the tension in the atmosphere
"But.."
"no buts please leave us for a second" Mac intruppted her words
She left the room in silence and closed the door slowly
" you shouldn't have told her" Mac said
I gave him I couldn't do anything about it look
" fine... But what revenge?! You said you will take what is yours!!"
I turned around to grap my watch and my keys and returned to face him again
"yea I will take what's mine and.."
"And?!" Mac asked raising his tone
"My revenge is mine too, don't you think" I replied with a cold smirk in my face
"so what's the plan?!" Mac said while smirking
I smiled at him
"Aiden Black" I said opening the door.
"Adr.." April said on seeing me
"yes.. Adrian I need you for a second in my office" I heard from behind her
"yeah, sure sir"
" Mac! , you are here too" He exclaimed
"I wonder why you are here?!" he said
"well...you know something in this place always makes me miss it" he improvised
" okay... I hope you don't mind talking to Adrian for a couple of minutes?"
" no worries... it's okay" he said
"well then enjoy your tour... And April will be your tour guide" He said playing along the lie
I walked by him till the first floor I did want him to know anything about what I was planning to do He was always good to me and treated me as his own son.
"sit down Adrian" He said on reaching the room
" well, I won't stop you" he said calmly
" what! " I said pretending not to be aware of what he was talking about
" Adrian... I am not your real father and I would be proud of you if you were"
"I don't know what are you talking about?!" I stopped his words
"you know...maybe I am not the reason for your existence but I have raised you for 20 years and I can see this Anger in your eyes when your mother mention his name Infront of you....you never wanted to talk to him even for once"
" if you are going to ask why now.. Sorry I can't answer you" I said while standing from my place
"you have all right to take your revenge" his words stopped me in my place while I was opening the door
"But Be careful Adrian... Regina Black isn't as easy as you think and especially her son"
"we will see" I said while leaving the room.
I went down stairs while looking at my watch to see April waiting for me on the sofa
" what happened?" she asked
" nothing" I replied coldly
"omg If I was talking to a piece of ice it would replied" she complained
"where's Mac?!" I said ignoring her comment
"ugh.. He left a while ago" she replied
"it is 4:30 .....Gotta go"
"You still don't wanna change your mind" she asked with a hopeless tone
I noded my head and made my way out of the garden of the villa to my car. I spent a while thinking about what my step father just I was intruppted by a knock on the window of my car
I forced myself to smile once my eyes met hers
I opened windows
" where are you going?!" she said
I ignored the question
" Hey Elen.... Where were you those past few days?!" I asked
" me....nowhere just sitting at home" she said
" You just didn't call me... If I didn't show up today you would totally forget your childhood friend" she sighed
I didn't answer her and only moved my fingers through my hair
"Anyways, you should go now... You seem busy"
"I am... April is inside". I noted
"yes.. She's better company than you by the way" she teased me
I smiled at her and drove my car as fast as she left
Memories were in front of my eyes repeating its self one after another as If I am trapped in them and couldn't return back to the present
I wasn't sure of my car's speed as I was driving so furiously until the moment when my eyes met her.. Hers was scared I couldn't get my eyes of them even though I was turning my car in the opposite direction. Once my car stopped in its place I rushed getting off my car to see her on the ground with her knees and elbows hurt
I rushed towards as fast as I could
"Are you okay?!" I craved to know
She ignored my question and tried to stand up and unfortunately she couldn't
I stretched my arm to help her but she totally ignored it
At that moment I heard a scared voice calling for a name
"Lea.." the voice become closer as she rushed to her friend
" Lea...nice name" I said to myself
" omg Lea... What happened?!" she said trying to help her friend to get up and the she looked at me a deadly look
" Are you sure you are okay" I said after clearing my throat.
"obviously she is not okay" she said ironically
"and obviously my words are not to you" I replied back with a cold glare
Out of the noise in the street I recognized my phone 's ringtone I saw my secretary's name on the screen I turned and walked counted steps away from them to answer the call but a very feminine voice stopped me
"why were you driving it when you don't know how to use it?!" she said madly
I turned to face them again with a sarcastic smile on my face
" what did you just say?"
